Design and Display

The company has introduced MacBook Air M5 in 13 inch and 15 inch display sizes. The laptop has a similar design to the old model. The 13 inch model has a 13.6 inch LCD display with a resolution of 2560 x 1664 pixels. It has 60Hz refresh rate. Peak brightness of 500 nits is given. The laptop has a 12MP center stage webcam. MacBook Air 15 inch comes with 15.3-inch Liquid Retina display which has a resolution of 2880×1864 pixels. Here the company has provided 10-core CPU and 10-core GPU support.

Processor

The biggest highlight of the MacBook Air M5 is its M5 chipset. The company has provided two GPU configurations with it, in which one has an 8-core processor for graphics and the other has a 10-core processor. RAM starts at 16GB. The user can customize the RAM and SSD as per his requirement for which the RAM can be expanded up to 24GB and 32GB. The standard storage is 512GB which can be expanded up to 4TB. The company claims that the read-write speed for SSD is now twice as fast as before.

For connectivity, the laptop has N1 wireless chip with which it supports Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be), Bluetooth 6, and Thread networking technology. Two Thunderbolt 4 ports are provided in the laptop. Along with this, support of 3.5mm jack is also provided.
