Ampere Magnus Neo Launched: 118km Range, 65kmph Top Speed; Battles Ather, Ola

Greaves Electric Mobility has launched its updated electric scooter Ampere Magnus Neo in India. Instead of making major changes in the new model, the company has prepared to improve everyday use.

The company claims that the e-scooter will give a range of 118km on full charge and its top speed is 65kmph. Its ex-showroom price in Delhi has been kept at Rs 86,999. In India, it will compete with Bajaj Chetak and Ather Rizta.

Design and Comfort: Comfortable seat for long rides

The company has made some important improvements in the ergonomics of Magnus Neo to reduce rider fatigue.

• Seat and Wheels: The seat in the scooter has been re-designed for comfortable long rides. Now its seat height is 777mm, which is comfortable even for short height people. It has 10-inch rear wheels.
• Weight: The total weight of the scooter is 103 kg. Due to its light weight, it becomes very easy to handle and park in traffic.

Performance: 118km range on single charge

For performance, Ampere Magnus Neo has a 2.3kWh LFP (Lithium Ferrous Phosphate) battery pack. According to the company, this scooter gives a range of 118 km under the Indian Driving Cycle (IDC).

However, its real world range in Eco mode is closer to 85-90 km. The top speed of the scooter is 65 km per hour. It takes about 5 hours to charge from 0 to 80% with the help of an off-board charger.

Hardware and features: 22 liters of under-seat storage

Magnus Neo has a good combination of basic but important features. Ampere has also improved its wheel and motor configuration, which will now give the rider smoother acceleration and better stability.

• Suspension and Brakes: For better ride quality, it has telescopic front forks and monoshock suspension at the rear. Which is based on the old dual-frame chassis. For braking, drum brakes are available on both the wheels.
• Smart Features: The scooter has a 3.5-inch LCD instrument console, all-LED lighting setup and a USB port for mobile charging.
• Storage: To keep the luggage, it has 22 liters of under-seat storage space, in which a helmet or a small bag can be easily kept.
