OpenAI has launched its latest and powerful model GPT-5.5 (codename: Spud) on 23 April 2026. It is more agentic than previous models, i.e. it works independently.

- Native Omnimodel: It processes text, images, audio and video in a single system. Older models used separate systems for these things, but GPT-5.5 understands them together.
