Twisha Sharma’s death case has taken a brand new turn. In a recent update from a source, the late actress’s mother-in-law, Giribala Singh, has left everyone stunned by deciding to fight her own case. For the unversed, Giribala and her son, Samarth Singh, were in CBI’s custody, which ended on Monday, June 1, 2026. And now, the duo were produced to the High Court, where she fought her own case.

Former judge and Twisha Sharma’s mother-in-law, Giribala Singh, is one of the key accused in the high-profile death case of the actress. She, along with her son, Samarth Singh, was in CBI remand and was produced before the court on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, where she reportedly represented herself. According to reports by Times Now, Girbala presented her case aggressively and defended herself. Both Giribala and her son, Samarth Singh, were produced in court on Tuesday as their police custody ended. However, it is to be noted that the CBI has not sought further extension of their custody, as per reports.

The CBI has intensified its probe into the circumstances surrounding Twisha Sharma’s death. According to sources, amid this, Giribala Singh, who is one of the prime suspects along with her son, Samarth Singh, has reportedly been personally arguing her case and actively responding to allegations levelled against her. While the mother and son maintained their silence during the CBI interrogation, the sources added that Giribala has now turned into a fierce lawyer while maintaining her innocence and has strongly contested claims made by the victim’s family. Responding to questions regarding CCTV footage, sources said that Giribala has maintained that her family has not officially released any such footage in the public domain.

What happens to Twisha Sharma’s husband, Samarth Singh and mother-in-law, Giribala Singh, now?

After CBI’s period of remand ended on Monday, June 1, 2026, Giribala Singh and Samarth Singh were produced in the High Court, where the presiding judge remanded them to judicial custody until June 16, 2026, and sent them to Bhopal Central Jail. Authorities have directed that both accused be kept separately from other inmates during their incarceration, given their involvement with the law and considering their safekeeping.

What has the CBI discovered so far in Twisha Sharma’s death case?

According to reports, CBI is currently awaiting a crucial forensic reconstruction report that could determine whether Twisha Sharma had died by suicide or was murdered. It has been reported that the forensic report is being prepared by experts at the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) in Delhi. The report is expected within a week and is likely to play a crucial role in the investigation. Other than that, CBI also recreated the crime scene at Giribala Singh’s residence in Katara Hills area, Bhopal, where Twisha took her last breath on May 12, 2026. 


Investigators used a dummy, a noose and other materials to reconstruct the sequence of events leading up to the death of Twisha Sharma, which have been cited by Giribala Singh and Samarth Singh. The data generated during the recreation exercise was subsequently sent to Delhi for scientific analysis. According to sources, the test was designed to see whether the version presented by the accused matched the physical evidence. Another major discovery was when reports noted that a key witness in Twisha’s case, named Neeraj Dubey, was allegedly physically assaulted by Samarth Singh’s friends.

So far, the CBI has questioned both the accused, Giribala Singh and Samarth Sigh. The team is also looking into who helped Samarth when he was on the run. Other than that, investigators have since been examining witness statements, digital evidence, and forensic findings.
