Indian team cricket schedule after IPL: Full list of matches, fixtures, dates, venues

Shortly after the conclusion of the 2026 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), the Indian cricket team’s international season will resume with a one-off Test match against Afghanistan in New Chandigarh on June 6.

Led by Shubman Gill, who led Gujarat Titans to the IPL 2026 final, the Test squad includes the likes of KL Rahul, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rishabh Pant and Mohammed Siraj, who will be keen to return to red-ball action.

After the one-off Test, the Indian team will begin its preparations for the World Cup next year with a three-match ODI series against the Afghans. The contest will mark the international return of stalwarts Virat Kohli and Rohit, who have retired from Tests and T20Is.

Meanwhile, the Indian A team, led by Tilak Varma, will be involved in a tri-series with Sri Lanka A and Afghanistan A from June 9 to 21. The India A squad includes IPL 2026 Orange Cap winner and teen sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, vice-captain Ruturaj Gaikwad, as well as aggressive openers Prabhsimran Singh and Priyansh Arya. The seven-match tri-nation tournament in Sri Lanka will provide an opportunity to fringe players who want to stake a claim in the Indian ODI set-up ahead of next year’s showpiece event.

In June, India will also travel to Ireland for two T20Is before facing England in five T20Is and three ODIs between July 1 and 19.
