Gujarat Titans players and support staff had to be evacuated from the team bus in the early hours of Monday after a short circuit caused the vehicle to break down while returning to the team hotel following the Indian Premier League final defeat to Royal Challengers Bengaluru in Ahmedabad.
Although smoke quickly spread inside the bus, forcing everyone to disembark, sources confirmed to. sports star that all players and staff were safe and unharmed. However, the squad was made to wait by the roadside for some time before a replacement bus could be arranged to take them back.
The incident capped a difficult few days for the Titans, whose preparations for the final had already been disrupted after their chartered flight got delayed because of inclement weather in north-west India.

When asked whether the hectic travel schedule and limited recovery time affected Gujarat’s performance in the final, Director of Cricket Vikram Solanki refused to cite fatigue as an excuse.
“I don’t want to take away from the fact that RCB have won by simply stating that we’ve had this number of games in these short days and we’re fatigued,” Solanki said.
“Admittedly, it was a below-par total, but the team showed great fight while defending it. Credit must also go to the opposition for playing well,” the former England international added.
