Twisha Sharma’s untimely demise was both shocking and heartbreaking. According to reports, the former actress and model reportedly died by suicide on May 12, 2026, in her matrimonial house in Bhopal. On June 2, 2026, a court in Bhopal sent Twisha’s husband, Samarth Singh, and mother-in-law, retired judge Giribala Singh, to 14 days of judicial custody after their remand with the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) ended. Amid this, Twisha’s friend and actress, Lavina Tandon, opened up about how she was as a person.

Recently, Lavina Tandon, the Jodha Akbar actress, sat for a candid conversation with SWITCH. During the conversation, Lavina shared that Twisha Sharma was her friend. She mentioned that she was not confident about what had happened to her. Lavina stated that Twisha was a bubbly, bindass and a happy-go-lucky person. She added that they last spoke in 2024 and haven’t had any contact with her since then. She was quoted as saying:
“Twisha Sharma was my friend. Whatever has happened with her, I am not really very confident or sure about it. But what you see of me, she was just like us. She was bubbly, bindass, and so full of life, happy-go-lucky. We spoke last in April 2024 or sometime in 2024. Last year in 2025, I had no contact with her or she also didn’t have any. Ap woh realise bhi nahi karte, apko lagta hai ki chalo koyi busy hai apne life mein aur kuch na kuch horaha hoga.”

During the same conversation, Lavina shared that Twisha’s sudden death was a wake-up call for those who are suffering in a relationship or marriage. Lavina mentioned that whether it is a girl or a boy, if things are not working, try to sort them out, but if things don’t resolve, the person should come out of it. She was quoted as saying:
“Whether be it a girl or a boy nahi jam raha hai, sort karo nahi ho raha, apne parents ko explain karo and just nikal jao us cheez se, at least zinda to rahoge.”

Twisha Sharma’s death case has sent shockwaves throughout the nation. After 12 days of her untimely demise, Twisha’s last rites were performed in Bhopal on May 24, 2026. According to Twisha’s husband, Samarth Singh, he was the one who found his wife hanging with a belt around her neck. Samarth claimed that he brought down Twisha’s body and that his mother, Giribala Singh, untied the knot around her neck. As Samarth’s narrative has no alibi, an 80 kg dummy was used to verify it.
Giribala was arrested on May 28, 2026, after her anticipatory bail was cancelled by the Madhya Pradesh court. She was earlier given relief by a Bhopal sessions court. Samarth reportedly surrendered himself after disappearing for 10 days. Samarth’s lawyer told PTI in May 2026 that he tried to save Twisha and took her to the hospital. His family also claimed the same. According to Twisha’s in-laws, Samarth rushed her to the hospital and attempted CPR before seeking medical help. Samarth’s lawyer, Gyanendra, claimed that Twisha didn’t want to have kids. Gyanendra was quoted as saying:
“Samarth tried to save her, rushed her to the hospital instead of waiting for the police; Twisha didn’t want to keep the child.”
