Skoda Auto India has launched the 2026 model of premium full size SUV Skoda Kodiaq in India. The biggest change the company has made in the updated model is related to safety, in which Level-2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) feature has now been included.

The company claims that the car gives a mileage of 14.86kmpl. The ex-showroom starting price of the updated model has been kept at Rs 36.99 lakh. The special thing is that the price of its base variant ‘Lounge’ has been reduced by Rs 3 lakh. However, other variants have become costlier due to the addition of new features.

There is no mechanical change in the car. Like before, it will be available in 3 variants and 5 color options with turbo petrol engine. In India, it will compete with Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line, Toyota Fortuner, MG Gloster, Jeep Meridian, Hyundai Tucson and Nissan X-Trail.

Exterior and interior: Illuminated grille and luxury cabin

Talking about the look, the design of the 2026 model has been kept the same as before. However, now the ‘Sportline’ variant will also get illuminated front grille, which was earlier available only in the top model L&K. The car is available in 5 and 7-seater configurations with 5 color options.

  • Front Design: There is a hexagonal ‘butterfly’ grille at the front. It has thin split matrix LED headlights with connecting LED strips on either side. Above the grille is a sculpted bonnet. Here is the Skoda logo in matte dark chrome. At the bottom, there is a bumper with C-shaped elements and a thin air dam.
  • Side and Rear: The side profile of Skoda Kodiaq has 18-inch alloy wheels, whose design varies depending on the variant. It has a silver touch on the C-pillar. At the rear it has connected LED tail lamps. The length of the SUV is 4.75 meters, wheelbase is 2.71 meters and width is 1.8 meters.

Interior: 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system

The cabin has a new layered dashboard and a 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It also has physical controls, which can be used for many purposes like climate control and infotainment.

There is a 10.25-inch digital cluster for the driver. The gear selector is in the steering column and there are several storage spaces provided below the center console. It has two cabin color themes: Black with Sportline and Black/Tan with Selection L&K.

For comfort, the car gets 12-way powered front seats with ventilated and massage function, three-zone climate control, two wireless phone chargers, multi-color ambient lighting, panoramic sunroof and 13-speaker Canton sound system.

Performance: 2-litre turbo petrol engine and 14.86kmpl mileage

  • Transmission: The engine is paired with a 7-speed DSG (dual clutch transmission).
