This reduction has been made before the implementation of the Free Trade Agreement between India and Britain. The company has also reduced the price of Range Rover Sport SV Edition Two by Rs 40 lakh, which will now be available for Rs 2.35 crore. The new prices have been implemented with immediate effect.

Import duty will be reduced from 110% to 30%

The Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) was signed between India and Britain on 24 July 2025. Under this agreement, the import duty on large cars coming completely built (CBU) from Britain will be reduced from 110% to 30% in the first year. By the 5th year this duty will reduce to only 10%. This rule will apply to models with petrol engines above 3,000cc and diesel engines above 2,500cc.

3 big things about change in prices:

Second consecutive cut: After GST 2.0 reforms, the prices were reduced by up to Rs 30.4 lakh in September 2025 also. This is the second major change within a year.

Updates to paint scheme: Ultra Metallic paint (Gloss and Satin finish) will now be available as standard in Range Rover SV.

New variant soon: According to sources, the company will soon launch a new standard SV variant of Range Rover Sport, which will cost around Rs 2.05 crore.

Prices of Defender and Discovery will not change

The company has clarified that there will be no change in the prices of locally assembled models like Range Rover Standard, Sport, Evoque and Velar in India. Apart from this, the prices of ‘Defender’ and ‘Discovery’ will also remain the same, because they are manufactured in Slovakia and are not covered under the India-UK trade deal. However, the company is considering local assembly of the Defender.

Powerful Engine: The car generates power of 635hp.

Both these SV variants of Range Rover have a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol engine. In Range Rover SV, this engine gives power of 540hp, while in Range Rover Sport SV it generates power of 635hp and torque of 800Nm.

These brands will also benefit

Not only JLR but other British luxury brands like Bentley, Rolls-Royce, Aston Martin and McLaren will also benefit from this deal with Britain. However, an annual quota has been set for this (20,000 vehicles in the first year), which will be shared among all the British brands.
