India Becomes Strong Market for PC, Sales Increased to 1.44 Crore Units, HP Gets First Rank

The personal computer (PC) market has grown rapidly in the country in the last few years. Last year, PC sales increased to approximately 1.44 crore units. The total PC market has grown by approximately 6.9 percent in the fourth quarter of last year. The 9.6 percent increase in sales of notebooks has a major contribution in this. Shipments of premium notebooks grew 13.8 percent last year. There has been a growth of 2.6 percent in the consumer segment and 5.1 percent in the commercial segment on a year-on-year basis. The Enterprise and Government segment grew 10.6 percent last year on a year-on-year basis. HP has secured the first position in the PC market with 30.1 percent share. company The Government and Enterprise segments have grown by around 14.7 per cent and 14.3 per cent respectively. However, its sales from the consumer segment have declined by about 7.5 percent. China’s Lenovo ranks second with a share of about 17.2 percent. Dell ranks third in this market with 16.1 percent share. Acer has secured the fourth position with a share of 15.1 percent. Acer’s sales in the consumer segment have increased by 48.4 percent on a year-on-year basis. Asus ranks fifth in this market with a share of about seven percent.
