India is currently abuzz with the Rs. 370 biriyani controversy. Pranit More and Himanshu Jangra are the two individuals who are all over social media for being at the centre of the scandal. It occurred during a live comedy show in Gurugram for a crowd, hosted by stand-up comic Pranit, when Himanshu shared some controversial views about women. The 23-year-old shared that during one of his dates, he spent Rs. 370 on their biriyani, and thus, expected the girl to give him physical favours in return. He faced immense flak for the remark, following which he lost his job, and people started digging into his past controversial posts.

Recently, after Himanshu Jangra became the official meme of 2026 due to his insensitive way of talking about women, Indian influencers and even commoners started digging up more information about him. Recently, lifestyle influencer, @chroniclesofsakshi claimed to have found the man of the moment, Himanshu’s Instagram. The IG handle @__hunny__jangra, however, no longer shows any search results, so the account’s authenticity cannot be verified. Nevertheless, let’s dive into what the post was about. According to the screenshot shared by Sakshi, the alleged Instagram post of Himanshu was about wife beating.

As per her, it was a reel where he posed with a bunch of bealts and even held one in his hand and pulled it suggestively, claiming that his ancestors used them as a tool to beat and discipline their lugaai (wife). What made the post seem even more bizarre is that Himanshu Jangra was seen smiling widely in the video, making it seem like a sensitive topic like domestic violence was a joke for him. Sakshi’s post about Himanshu’s alleged old reel went viral, garnering over 92.5K shares. People expressed their outrage in the comment section, slamming his alleged sick mentality and misogynistic views.

What was the incident that brought Himansu Jangra into the spotlight?

During a recent live audience show by Marathi stand-up comedian Pranit More, Himanshu tried to act cool by recounting an instance of his pseudo-masculinity. He opened up about a recent date when he took a woman out and bought a plate of chicken biryani for approximately Rs. 370. The controversy erupted when Himanshu shared the next part, stating that he was annoyed when the girl asked him to drop her off at home right after they had eaten. He said he expected intimacy or physical favours in lieu of the money he spent on the biriyani bill.

Himanshu even made vile descriptions regarding kissing and touching the girl. The result? The entire nation erupted in a fierce debate about morality and respect towards romantic partners. Social media is flooded with memes about how paying bills isn’t directly proportional to consent regarding physical acts. In the wake of the hate train he has been receiving from netizens, summonses from human-interest groups, and a cyber cell inquiry, his company fired him.

Vivek Vishwakarma, one of the founders of Starvik, the company where Himanshu Jangra used to work as a web developer, recently broke the silence on why they decided to sack their employee. In an interview with a media outlet, Vivek described Himanshu as a good employee, adding that he had a different personality in the office. Vivek initially tried to avoid the matter since it happened outside the workplace. But when things went out of hand, he decided to take action against Himanshu.

Shortly after the Rs. 370 biriyani clip went viral, Starvik became a target of the netizens for their association with Himanshu. A lot of negative reviews started pouring in against the company, and this even led some clients to end their partnerships with it. That led them to fire Himanshu to prevent further loss to the company.
