Portronics has launched its new Mport Space 8 in 1 USB Type C Hub in India. This device is specially designed for modern laptop users which lack ports. Mport Space has an in-built M.2 SSD slot that supports NVMe and SATA SSD. Apart from this, it has connections like 4K HDMI output, USB 3.0 port, SD and microSD card reader, Type C Power Delivery and Type C data port. It facilitates storage, charging, display and data transfer through a single Type C connection.
Talking about the price, the price of Portronics Mport Space has been kept at Rs 2,799. It is available on Portronics’ official website, Amazon, Flipkart and other online and offline retail stores. The company is also giving 12 months warranty.
The biggest feature of Mport Space is its in-built M.2 SSD slot. According to the company, it supports NVMe and SATA SSDs of 2242, 2260 and 2280 sizes, although the SSD will have to be purchased separately. This eliminates the need for users to have a separate enclosure and allows the hub to act as a portable storage solution, which can be useful for those handling large files or high resolution media.
In terms of connectivity, this hub turns one Type C port into a total of eight ports. It has HDMI output with 4K resolution 30Hz support, so that users can work in mirror or extend mode on a larger screen. High-speed file transfers are possible via USB 3.0 and Type C data ports, while SD and microSD card readers help access camera or drone footage.
For power support, it has 100W USB C Power Delivery pass through charging. That means users can use all other connected devices while charging the laptop. According to the company, this feature is useful during long workflow.
It has a separate ON OFF switch for SSD so that there is no accidental disconnection. LED indicators show standby and read write activity. The aluminum body design of the hub helps with heat dissipation and a nylon braided cable is added for longevity. It comes with Plug and Play support and does not require any additional driver installation.
