The couple took the heart-wrenching decision of aborting their unborn child after it was diagnosed that it had Down syndrome. Now, Jesse and his wife were receiving a lot of hate for announcing the news of their pregnancy termination.

Jesse Ridgway is famously known as a subscriber to McJuggerNuggets. On June 3, 2026, Jesse and his wife, Ashley, announced that they had to make the most difficult decision to terminate the pregnancy after their unborn child had a 95 per cent chance of being born with Down syndrome. Taking to his X handle, Jesse talked about the painful journey and revealed that they had to abort their child due to the chances of illness. He wrote:
“This week, my wife and I made the very difficult decision to terminate the pregnancy due to Trisomy 21. The choice was not made lightly. We really appreciate all of the personal stories that you guys shared with us, especially the unconditional support we received from fans no matter what we decided.”
Jesse revealed that they are most disappointed to hear this news and are devastated. He added that it was the most traumatic for both of them, as Ashley underwent the procedure earlier this week, and it happened smoothly. He revealed that the child had Down Syndrome due to an extra chromosome, and only 1 in 1000 babies have it. He wrote:
“I know some of you may be very disappointed to hear this news. We are devastated. This has been extremely traumatic for both of us, especially Ashley. She underwent the procedure earlier this week and is on the mend. Thankfully, everything went smoothly, but emotionally we are drained. Trisomy 21, also known as Down Syndrome, is caused by an extra chromosome. It is caused by an error in cell division, like a glitch. The odds of a baby having it is 1 in 1000.”

One user on X wrote, “This was the murder of your own child, an innocent baby made in the image of God. Just because Down syndrome offers some added inconveniences does not mean babies with Down syndrome should be legally executed. Please run to Jesus Christ, who forgives murderers, in sincere repentance and faith.”
A second one pointed out how Jesse fought for his dog with no kids and made her a superhero, but gave up on their baby. The person commented, “You killed your unborn baby because of T21 but are choosing to keep a dog with no kidneys alive? Your priorities and actions are reprehensible. The blood of your child will cry out from the ground to the Most High God of the universe for justice.”

After receiving the hate, Jesse slammed the internet for their hate remarks on him and comparing his dog’s disease with his unborn child, who was diagnosed with Down syndrome. He called it insensitive for people to judge two people who lost the most precious thing in their lives. He wrote:
“I’ve never seen such hate and vitriol for two people grieving the loss of their unborn child and making an impossible decision. The last 24 hours have exposed a side of humanity that is deeply disturbing. Being called “murderous pieces of shit, evil, compared to Hitler” and receiving NON-STOP DEATH THREATS. Seeing my 6-year old dog with Stage 4 Kidney Disease be used as a weapon, manipulating my words and intent in a tweet or saying we’ll regret this decision forever and must repent to God is absolute insanity.”
