Amid the viral Rs. 370 Biryani controversy, comedian Pranit More‘s show has once again become a target of social media backlash after a Mumbai-based doctor made vulgar remarks about a male cadaver. The social media personality, Sejal Pawar, received widespread criticism after her remark during a crowdwork segment at one of More’s performances.
During the now-viral exchange, Pawar shared her experience studying anatomy and working with cadavers during medical training. What raised eyebrows was her questionable remarks about the private parts of a male cadaver. That exchange spread like a firestorm on social media, triggering intense criticism from users, students, and medical professionals alike.
Who is Sejal Pawar, and what did she say?

Sejal Pawar is a Mumbai-based doctor who used to post lifestyle content on social media before the controversy. She is believed to have been associated with Mumbai’s KEM Hospital during her medical training. With over 243k followers on Instagram, she had established a decent presence online, and until her recent controversy, she was largely unknown outside her online and professional circles.

But what made the MBBS student such a controversial figure overnight? Well, it all began when Sejal attended one of Pranit More’s comedy shows a couple of months ago. Things were going on normally until the comedian asked whether medical professionals remain serious while working with cadavers or if doctors also crack jokes sometimes.

Responding to the question, Pawar described interactions involving donated bodies used for anatomy training and mentioned that she and some colleagues would compare the sizes of male cadavers’ private parts. The clip quickly spread across social media, with many arguing that the remarks showed a lack of respect for individuals who had donated their bodies for scientific and medical education.

The backlash intensified as medical students and healthcare professionals weighed in, stressing the importance of treating cadavers with dignity and gratitude. Considering her profession as a doctor, Pawar’s distasteful remarks at the controversial comedian’s show made her the target of online fury overnight. And the timing could not have been worse; her remarks have surfaced at a time when the whole nation is already boycotting More for the infamous Biryani joke made by one of his male audiences.
Sejal Pawar issues a public apology for her remarks

Amid the widely circulating criticism, the Mumbai-based doctor initially made her social media accounts private, and later made her IG page public only after removing all her previous content. On Thursday, June 11, 2026, Sejal issued a public apology through both a video statement and an Instagram post. She wrote in her statement that she had no intention to disrespect anyone and acknowledged that her remark was made in bad taste. Pawar’s statement reads:
“I genuinely want to address a clip from a recent video that has been circulating. Having watched it back, I completely understand why people were upset by what I said. The topic is a sensitive one, and my comments came across in a way they shouldn’t have. While there was never any intention to disrespect anyone, I recognize that impact matters more than intent.”

She continued by stating that she wasn’t trying to justify her remarks, and rather wants to take responsibility for her comments that unintentionally hurt many people’s feelings. Taking accountability for her actions, the doctor-influencer concluded by saying:
“I’m not here to justify what was said or explain it away. I take responsibility for it. Looking back, I can see how my words could be interpreted differently from what I meant. As a student this has been a learning experience for me, and it has made me reflect on the way I communicate, especially when discussing subjects that deserve greater thought and sensitivity. To everyone who was disappointed or hurt by the clip, I understand what went wrong and I am genuinely sorry for that, and I would never let this happen ever again!”

In a separate video message, Pawar admitted, “I said a very wrong thing. I am very sorry about that,” while acknowledging that the remark should never have been made. The doctor also described the controversy as a learning experience, saying it had made her reflect on how sensitive subjects should be discussed more thoughtfully, especially in public settings.

Despite her public apology, however, many users have continued to call her out, with one user writing on X, “I’m sure she doesn’t feel any guilt or shame. She will soon be back with a victim card video, blame men, and gain another 200K followers.”
