But shortly after his appointment, Kevin assured that he would lead a “reform-oriented” Federal Reserve. For those unaware, he previously served as a Federal Reserve governor during the 2008 financial crisis and later worked at major financial institutions. During the ceremony, Kevin mentioned that he will focus on decreasing inflation, strengthening economic growth and increasing real wages. In fact, President, Donald Trump also spoke about the Kevin’s appointment and political influence over the Federal Reserve and said:
“I want Kevin to be totally independent. I want him to be independent and just do a great job. Don’t look at me, don’t look at anybody, just do your own thing and do a great job.”
