The movie will bring the story behind the creation of To Catch a Predator, the Dateline NBC news program, which made headlines for its format. Chris Hansen and Gabrielle Gagnon have hardly revealed any details related to their relationship over the years. However, the duo got engaged in December 2020. According to The Sun, the pair reportedly met in Bloomfield at a restaurant bar, At Beau’s. The meeting happened when the duo stepped out for dinner with their friends. Chris announced his wedding to Gabrielle in 2021 with a picture where he was spotted with his wife, and wrote:

The news of Chris Hansen’s marriage arrived around a month after he was taken into custody in July 2021. The legal problem emerged from an arrest warrant where he was told to appear in court for a hearing related to a sex trafficking case. While Chris did not appear in court, he surrendered to the police. According to Deadline, the court wanted Chris to produce a video linked to the case after three men were arrested in October 2020. The trio was accused of meeting underage girls for sex.

As mentioned, Chris Hansen exchanged vows with Mary Joan in 1989. However, the latter filed for divorce in 2018, saying that there were no chances of reconciliation. Mary allegedly requested alimony and an equal share of property and debts. Radar Online reported that Chris and Mary Joan had already met each other to settle the financial matters. The divorce was eventually finalised in 2020.
Chris was additionally facing some other issues at the same time, which included his eviction from his residence in New York City. On the other hand, the eviction was a result of Hansen’s failure to pay USD 400, along with USD 3,600 to the landlord. He was given ten days to vacate the place. Apart from that, Chris was also arrested in 2019 due to some check bounce problems, which happened after he reportedly purchased some items worth USD 13,000.
