The otherwise shy actor Vijay shares a strong bond with Trisha, and the two have often been spotted together. It is also reported that his proximity with Trisha became the reason for his alleged split from his wife, Sangeetha.

As the rumours of Vijay and Trisha are leading the headlines, many unseen videos and interviews of the duo have made their way to social media. In one of the viral videos, Trisha and Vijay were seen attending an event together.
While greeting with a handshake, the alleged lovebirds were seen sharing a warm hug. In another segment of the video, Trisha and Vijay were seated together as they chatted. Not only did the two blush while interacting with each other, their love-filled glances for one another were unmissable.

Ever since Trisha and Vijay starred opposite each other in the 2004 film, Ghilli, there were rumours of an alleged romance between them. In the entertainment industry, it is common for an actor to be linked with his co-star. But in Vijay and Trisha’s case, their fans rooted for them despite the fact that Vijay was already a married man.
The more films Vijay and Trisha did together, the more rumours about their affair surfaced in the media. As a result, Vijay stopped working with her as the rumours disturbed his family life with Sangeetha. However, after 15 years, Vijay and Trisha starred in a film titled Leo in 2023, and yet again, it was speculated that the two were seeing each other. In an interview with IndiaGlitz Tamil, Trisha spoke about her bond with Vijay and heaped praise on him. Revealing why the actor will always be special to her, Trisha shared:
“Vijay is amazing. Vijay is a person who will always (be) very special to me because he was the co-star with whom I have given the biggest hits… I’ve never seen him lose his cool. He’s so professional on set, he does his work, completes his task, and he’s someone who you always look back and say that one person I’ll always be fond of. He’s one of them.”

In 2025, reports surfaced that all was not well in Vijay and Sangeetha’s marriage, as she was living in the UK with her kids. Not just this, Sangeetha’s absence from multiple events was also noticed by his fans. In February 2026, reports surfaced that Sangeetha had filed for a divorce from Vijay. As per reports, in her petition, Sangeetha stated that she discovered an alleged affair involving Vijay and a female actress, which led her to take the decision of divorce.
Sangeetha, in her petition, also claimed that despite many assurances, Vijay continued his illicit relationship, which was one of the biggest reasons that she took the step. Sangeetha didn’t mention the actress’s name to protect privacy, but it was clear she was directing the allegations at Trisha. Soon, Trisha and Vijay became the centre of attention, and people started digging out their past interviews and posts. After a few days of Sangeetha’s petition, news of his divorce surfaced in the media, and Vijay attended a wedding with Trisha.
