Tech company Techno has launched Powa 8, a new smartphone of Powa series in India today (June 11). This phone has been introduced as an upgraded version of Powa 7 which was launched last year. The new phone comes in two variants and its starting price has been kept at ₹ 29,999.
The biggest feature of the smartphone is its large 8000mAh battery and the ‘matrix display’ given on the back panel of the phone, which shows notifications and alerts of different apps in a unique way. The phone has been provided with MediaTek Dimension 7100 processor for gaming.
Tecno Powa 8: Design, dimensions and color options
- Material: The rear panel of the phone is made of strong material, which has been given a special texture. The phone has received military grade MIL-STD-810H certification for rough-and-tough use.
- Dimensions and Weight: Its dimension is 165.66×78.46×8.8mm. Despite having a big battery, an effort has been made to keep its thickness low. Its weight is 225 grams, which gives a slightly solid and premium feel when held in the hand.
- Back Panel and Front Look: There is a customizable matrix display and dual camera setup on the back panel. At the same time, the selfie camera is provided in the punch-hole cutout with very thin bezels in the front.
- Ports and Buttons: Type-C charging port, speaker grill and microphone are provided at the bottom of the phone. The power button and volume rockers are found on the right side.
- Color and Water-Dust Rating: This phone comes in three color options – 16 bit white, plasma orange and terminal green. The phone has been given IP64 rating to protect against water splash and dust.
Tecno Powa 8: Specifications and features
Display: Powa 8 has a 6.76-inch full-HD+ (1080×2,344 pixels) IPS screen. It supports 144Hz refresh rate for smooth scrolling. It has 91.29% screen-to-body ratio, 381ppi pixel density and peak brightness of 950 nits for outdoor visibility. Its instantaneous touch sampling rate is 1500Hz.
Camera: For photography, there is a dual camera setup on its rear panel, in which the main lens is a 50-megapixel Sony LYT-600 primary sensor, which comes with a light sensor. A 13-megapixel camera is provided in the front for selfie and video chatting. The camera app has in-built features like AI cam, portrait mode, super night mode, vlog mode and slow motion.
Performance and Software: The smartphone has an octa-core MediaTek Dimension 7100 processor built on 6nm architecture, which comes with Mali-G610 MC2 GPU. To keep the phone cool during gaming, it has been provided with a large cooling system of 14,689 square millimeters. This phone runs on Techno’s HiOS 16 based on Android 16. Dedicated G1 and SE1 signal chipsets have also been added to it for better network.
Power Backup: The phone has a large battery of 8,000mAh, which supports 45W fast charging. The company claims that on a single charge this battery can provide 1,198.1 hours of standby time, 39.5 hours of calling time and about 17.77 hours of video playback time.
Other Features: For connectivity, the phone has the latest Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, 5G support and stereo speakers for better audio experience.
