International Smartphone Manufacturing declined in Q1, Samsung Biggest Handset Manufacturer

South Korea’s Samsung was the largest smartphone maker in the first quarter. Samsung Has manufactured approximately 6.26 crore units. This is an increase of about 2.3 percent compared to the same period last year. Samsung Galaxy 26 series has received good response from customers. For this reason, the company has increased the manufacturing of smartphones of this series. The Samsung Galaxy S26 series consists of three models – Samsung Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+ and Galaxy S26 Ultra. According to the report of market research firm Counterpoint, sales in the first six weeks of the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S26 series have been about 15 percent more than the Samsung Galaxy S25 series introduced last year. American devices maker Apple ranked second in smartphone manufacturing in the first quarter. Apple has manufactured approximately 6.02 crore iPhones. This is an increase of about 19.7 percent compared to the same period last year. Sales of Apple’s iPhone 17e remain strong. Apple, which has a major share in the premium smartphones segment, can insist on increasing its sales even if costs increase due to higher margins.
