Recently, a post on LinkedIn went viral. The post was made by Himanshu Jangra, who claimed that suddenly his posts and YouTube videos started going viral on social media after the Rs. 370 biriyani controversy. To mention, it’s not Himanshu Jangra who was present in Pranit More’s audience in the Gurgaon standup comedy show, rather a different individual.
This particular Himanshu Jangra has clarified that it was not him who made the comment and only his name matches with the viral individual, who has been heavily criticised. Several social media users who carry the same name have seen a surge in their profile visits, along with several fake accounts being created in his name; however, till now, no official reaction from his end or no traces of his social presence could be found.
Controversy around Pranit More’s Rs 370 biriyani
To mention, the 23-year-old Himanshu Jangra appeared in Pranit More’s stand-up comedy, and he was asked to share an anecdote. To this, Himanshu said that he once was out with a girl on a date, and treated her with Rs. 370 biriyani. When the woman wanted to go to her home following the brunch, Himanshu said he wanted intimacy in exchange for spending Rs. 370 on her, by mentioning this as ‘paisa wasool’. Such a comment instantly enraged everyone out there on social media. The comment was not only insensible but also of a misogynistic kind, and Himanshu had to pay the ‘price’ by losing his job.
To mention, he was employed with Starvik Design, Gurgaon, where he was working as a web developer. Reportedly, his salary there was within Rs. 3-5 LPA, and the founder of the same company revealed that Himanshu has been fired. His boss, Vivek Vishwakarma, revealed that he was questioned a lot about the same, and several negative comments were thrown at him, along with his company losing their business partner, due to such an insensitive comment that had been made.
Vivek Vishwakarma fired Himanshu, and speaking to India Today, revealed that he never would support him, but Pranit also should have stopped him, or at least should have schooled him for such an insensible comment. He revealed that Himanshu was from Haryana and wanted to be an influencer, and being in the spotlight might have boosted him. He also shared that Himanshu was a ‘good employee’.
