Chennai Super Kings wicket keeper Sanju Samson walked off the field against Gujarat Titans on Thursday after being hit on his left hand.
The incident took place in the second over of the first innings when Spencer Johnson’s wide delivery down leg side swung to the left in the last minute. Samson, who had to adjust to the moving delivery in the blink of an eye, got hit on his left glove and the ball went to the boundary.
Samson was seen holding his hand in pain and signaling to the physio for treatment and after a consultation, he walked off the field. Urvil Patel took over as the wicket keeper after Samson left the field.
But thankfully for CSK, Samson returned to bat in his regular opening position in the second innings. Samson’s stay at the crease lasted shorter than a blink of eye as he was dismissed by Mohammed Siraj for a golden duck.
