The April 2026 update seems to be a problem for Google Pixel users. Many users have complained that after the update, their phone’s battery is draining rapidly, even with normal use, the backup has reduced significantly. In some cases, the battery life has been reduced by half. Because of this, users are continuously complaining on social media and forums. Currently, Google has acknowledged the issue and is continuing to investigate, but no fix has been released yet.
This problem has especially surfaced after the April 2026 update. Hundreds of users have complained about this on Issue Tracker. According to some users, the reason for the problem could be the phone being continuously active in the background. This means that even after the screen is off, the CPU of the device is being activated again and again, due to which the battery is draining rapidly. Many users also reported that the battery drain continues despite keeping it in airplane mode, which makes this problem more serious.
Google first addressed this issue on April 14. Accept And since then the company is continuously asking for bug reports from users so that the exact cause of the problem can be found. However, the company has not yet released any official solution or update.
It is expected that a solution to this problem can be provided in the upcoming May update. Till then, users may have to face this battery related problem, especially those for whom backup of the phone is necessary for daily work.
