Ever since Peddi released on June 4, 2026, the film has been hogging the spotlight for all the wrong reasons. It all started when fans noticed how the makers of the film had hypersexualised Janhvi Kapoor’s character in Peddi. Amid the intense backlash the filmmakers are facing, screenshots of Janhvi allegedly objecting to certain camera angles are now going viral.
Janhvi Kapoor reveals that she objected to certain camera angles used in Peddi
Recently, Janhvi Kapoor’s fan clubs have shared a number of screenshots and text messages which were seemingly sent by the actress to them. According to the surfaced chats, Janhvi had repeatedly objected to the manner in which some of the scenes with her character were being filmed. In one viral screenshot, which dates back to last year, October 30, 2025, Janhvi claimed that she had clearly told some of the camera angles not to be used while filming. She wrote, “I told him no boob and waist shots.” Janhvi even admitted that her co-star, Ram Charan, had also intervened on her behalf. She wrote:
“And Ram sir is so sweet, he also yelled at him and said you will not take such angles of her ever again. So he got upset.”
As per the chats, the person Janhvi referred to as he is none other than the Peddi’s director, Buchi Babu Sana. The reason these messages are currently gaining traction is that they appear to highlight that concerns about Janhvi’s character were raised during production itself.
Janhvi Kapoor claimed that “it keeps happening in the South”
In another part of the conversation, the Bollywood actress seemed to address what might be the actual issue happening in the industry. She wrote, “It keeps happening in the south.” The fan club then recalled how Kiara Advani had also faced criticism in Game Changer and compared the reactions. However, Janhvi added, “No, in this what they were taking was worse. But Ram sir said no way, stop.” When the fan pointed out and questioned why these kinds of things are only faced by actresses working with the same male lead, Janhvi seemingly responded with the same observation that it is just something that keeps happening in the South Indian industry.
Janhvi Kapoor opens up about how you can’t trust anything while filming
One of the parts in the conversation that grabbed the most attention was one where Janhvi Kapoor talks about consent. After a fan suggested that a school be opened to educate people, Janhvi opened up about how frustrating it was trying to communicate her concerns. She said, “You have no idea what I’ve been dealing with. Trying to make them understand.” Janhvi’s texts suggested that she does not trust how scenes are ultimately filmed and edited. At one point, a fan advised her not to approve certain scenes that involve body doubles. This is because even if it is not her in reality, viewers would assume otherwise. To this, Janhvi replied:
“Ya I’ve said this but you know how it is here. They’ll say close up and put camera on your cleavage. You can’t trust anything”
Janhvi appeared emotionally exhausted by the situation as the conversation continued. In fact, noticing this, the fan even ended up saying, “No more film. We are done.” With these chats going viral, many fans are now asking if they are real or not. This prompted the family club to make another post in which they shared a video of the conversation. However, neither BollywoodShaadis nor the author could verify if Janhvi was really behind the messages.
