Actress, Rumer Willis has lately made explosive allegations against her ex-partner, Derek Richard Thomas. She has accused him of incessant domestic violence and insane emotional abuse. This was when the ex-couple was in a relationship and is now fighting for the custody of their daughter, Louetta. For the unversed, Demi Moore and Bruce Willis’ daughter has been in a continuous fight related to the custody of their child.

A report by Page Six shared that Derek Richard Thomas had been asking for the custody of his daughter and visitation rights back in July 2025. Now, Rumer has claimed that Derek has had a persistent pattern of insane emotional abuse. She revealed it had taken place even before they broke up in 2024. She alleged of being abused in front of her minor child or while they were trapped in the car with him. As mentioned in the court documents, she shared:
“He engaged in ongoing coercive control through prolonged circular verbal attacks that he is unable or unwilling to stop. He engages in this type of attack for over six hours at a time on what became a daily basis.”

Actress, Rumer Willis further claimed that Thomas’ bizarre and erratic behaviour had escalated when their daughter came into their lives back in April 2023. Rumer revealed that she was constantly trying to keep the peace and walk on eggshells. The actress further shared that Thomas wanted her to isolate herself from her friends and family. She alleged he was paranoid and said:
“He constantly called me a liar with no reason behind it. He told me I was a bad girlfriend all the time. He had paranoid behaviour, saying that my mother and I were plotting to take Louetta away from him. He got very mad at me when I would not let his mother smoke weed in my house when Louetta was a newborn. For a long time, it was difficult for me to stand up to Thomas as I tried to avoid his emotional tirades and abuse even for a long time after he moved out.”
Rumer then alleged that she and Thomas’ child, Louetta, aged 3, is traumatised and cries a lot. This is the reason why Rumer does not want Thomas to have overnights or time without a 730 child custody evaluation. Rumer also alleged that she was not fine with Thomas’ fiancee, Lizzie Loch, being with their daughter when his parenting time was there. This was because Rumer claimed he had a history of fighting in relationships and in front of the child.

Thomas had shared that Rumer had made this request as she is enraged by their daughter’s affection for his new partner. He slammed her for alleging that he would submit to court-ordered drug testing due to his history of chronic daily marijuana use and evidence of behaviour indicative of someone under the influence of drugs for extended periods of time. Thomas also said he did no act of domestic violence against Rumer and said:
“I have committed no acts of domestic violence in any form, including any active coercive control. Our relationship was unhealthy and appropriately came to an end, but it was not at all characterised by any violence, physical or emotional attacks or intimidation on my part. The decision to end the relationship between myself and Rumer was a mutual decision made in our mutual best interests.”
