The story of Chand Mera Dil revolves around two central characters, ‘Aarav’ (played by Lakshya) and ‘Chandni’ (played by Ananya Panday). Their love story gets tested when everything turns messy. The pair’s relationship is shaped by love, mistakes and unresolved pain. While everything looked like a fairytale romance soon turns serious, where reality strikes hard.

A while back, movie critic and trade analyst, Taran Adarsh, shared an early review of Chand Mera Dil, directed by Vivek Soni, on his X (formerly Twitter) handle. He mentioned that while the first 30 minutes seemed like a typical love story, the narrative shifts gears and will take everyone by surprise. An excerpt from his review can be read as:

Rating: 3.5/5 Expect the unexpected, because this isn’t your regular love story… Winsome performances, several terrific emotional moments, and soulful music are its strengths… The second half could’ve been sharper. #ChandMeraDilReview #ChandMeraDil may come across as a typical love story since the makers haven’t revealed much in the promotional material… And while the film does appear to follow a familiar path in the first 30 minutes, it shifts gears soon after and takes you completely by surprise.”
The trade analyst lauded director, Vivek Soni for the presence of relatable moments. Taran mentioned that Vivek ensured that the tension was built gradually without making it feel rushed. He added that the second half seemed a bit stretched in some places. He wrote:
“Director Vivek Soni packs warmth, tenderness, and relatable moments into the narrative, but it’s the emotional quotient that elevates the film further… In fact, he ensures the tension builds gradually, never making it feel rushed. A particular sequence set at a plush restaurant in the second half takes the conflict to an altogether new level… The director’s storytelling prowess comes to the fore brilliantly in this standout sequence. The only stumbling block is the second half, which feels stretched at places and could’ve been tighter… In fact, the conflict loses some steam before the finale regains momentum.”
Giving an overall overview of Chand Mera Dil, including the lead pair, Lakshya and Ananya Panday’s performance, Taran wrote, “#ChandMeraDil rests on the able shoulders of its lead pair… #Lakshya catches you completely off guard – he is fantastic… You walk in carrying the image of the action hero from #Kill, but walk out impressed by an actor who excels in emotional moments… He handles the emotional beats exceptionally well. #AnanyaPanday continues to grow with every film… After #KesariChapter2, this is yet another performance that will take people by surprise… She delivers a restrained and mature act.”

Chand Mera Dil cast fees revealed
According to a report by News Nation, Ananya Panday allegedly earned Rs. 5 crore for her role. While Lakshya reportedly took home Rs. 50 lakh for his role in Chand Mera Dil. If the report is believed to be true, then Ananya allegedly earned 10 times more fees. According to the same outlet, the supporting cast, Pratham Rathod and Elvis Jose, reportedly charged Rs. 1.5 million and Rs. 1 million respectively.
