Sony Xperia 1 VIII May Get Different Camera Layout, New Colors

A new smartphone from Japanese consumer electronics maker Sony can be launched soon. Some leaks have revealed the key specifications of the Sony Xperia 1 VIII. It may replace the Sony Xperia 1 VII that was introduced last year.

One on social media platform Post User Insider Sony has leaked the Computer Aided Design (CAD) of the upcoming smartphone. The Sony Xperia 1 VIII may feature a triple rear camera unit. This smartphone is visible in new colors of Purple, Green and Black. Sony Xperia 1 VIII has a newly designed square shaped rear camera unit. It has three cameras and an LED flash. This is different from the vertically aligned camera setup given in Sony smartphones. There is a hole-punch display in the front of this smartphone. Earlier, the front camera has been provided inside the top bezel in the company’s smartphones. This smartphone can have Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 as its processor.

This leak indicates that all three cameras in the upcoming smartphone will be 48 megapixels. The ultra-wide camera of the Sony Xperia 1 VIII may be similar to its previous version. This smart fone Stereo speakers can also be provided on the front. The company has not given any information about this smartphone. Earlier in a media report, it was said that Sony Xperia 1 VIII has been listed on the IMEI database. The model number of this smartphone is – XQ-GE44.

The Sony Xperia 1 VII features a 6.5-inch FHD+ OLED HDR display (1,080 x 2,340 pixels) with a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz and a touch scanning rate of 240 Hz. This smartphone has Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and Adreno 830 GPU. It runs on Android 14 based operating system. The triple rear camera unit of Sony Xperia 1 VII has a 48-megapixel primary camera. It is provided with a 48 megapixel ultra wide angle camera and a 12 megapixel telephoto camera. Its front has a 12-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls. The 5,000 mAh battery of this smartphone supports 30 W fast charging.
