Claudine Longet, the French-American singer and actress, has died at 84. She was best known for her soft voice, TV appearances and highly publicized relationship scandals. Her nephew, Bryan Longet, confirmed her demise. He shared the emotional tribute for the actress and recalled her “light, elegance, talent and kindness”. At the moment, the exact cause of Claudine Longet’s death is unclear. However, several reports and online discussions suggest that she might have died of natural causes due to old age. But her family has not officially confirmed those claims to the public. According to the reports cited by Deadline, Claudine died peacefully at her home in Aspen, Colorado. In fact, she had been living there privately for several decades.

Claudine’s nephew, Bryan Longet, confirmed the news on social media. But, he did not reveal any medical details related to her passing either. Due to the secrecy surrounding her final year, the speculations have quickly spread on the internet after the news of her death surfaced. Still, no medical statement or family confirmation has been released about it.

Claudine spent nearly five decades away from the spotlight after going through one of Hollywood’s most infamous celebrity trials in the 1970s. Her name continued to remain closely linked to the death of Spider Sabich, the Olympic skier she fatally shot in Aspen in March 1976. According to reports, Claudine claimed the gun accidentally discharged while Spider was teaching her to use it in the bathroom of their shared Chalet. In turn, he was struck in the abdomen and later died when he was taken to the hospital. In fact, she was convicted of criminally negligent homicide in 1988.

After her highly publicised trial, Claudine Longet almost disappeared from public life. She rarely gave any interviews and completely avoided media appearances for her life. Some reports suggest that the Sabich family later filed a civil lawsuit against her, but they settled it privately under a strict confidentiality agreement. As per multiple reports, the settlement prevented her from publicly talking about the shooting or profiting from the story through interviews or memoirs.

After moving away from Hollywood, Claudine reportedly stayed in Aspen, Colorado. She later married her former defence attorney, Ronald Austin, who left his wife and kids for her. Despite her controversial past, she led a private life away from the industry’s glamour. Occasionally, her name resurfaced in media reports about her expensive Aspen real estate properties listed for sale.

Before the controversy, Claudine Longet had a successful career in music and television in the 1970s and 1970s. She was born in Paris in 1942 and began her career as a dancer with the famous Folies Bergère revue in Las Vegas. There, she met legendary entertainer Any Williams, and they married in 1961. The duo had three children before divorcing in 1975.

At the same time, Claudine made a successful music career after signing with A&M Records. Albums like Claudine, The Look of Love, and Love Is Blue.
