Ranveer Singh has been dominating headlines for the past few months. It all began when the actor appeared in the blockbuster film, Dhurandhar, directed by Aditya Dhar. The movie co-starring Sara Arjun, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna and more is one of the most talked-about films of 2026. While reports claimed that the franchise came to an end with Dhurandhar: The Revenge, the makers of the film have hinted towards a third sequel, leaving fans excited.
Is Dhurandhar 3 on the cards?
Aditya Dhar redefined Bollywood action films with Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar. Recently, Jyoti Deshpande of Jio Studios, who was one of the producers of the movie hinted at a third part of the franchise. A few hours ago, Jyoti had a chat with Bollywood Hungama, during which when she was asked about how she and Aditya Dhar are relaxing after giving two superhit movies, she replied:
“We’re not done with Dhurandhar yet. We’ll hopefully have a surprise for the audience later this year. There’s something up our sleeves.”
Fans hope for a Dhurandhar BTS documentary
It is worth mentioning that Jyoti Deshpande did not reveal any more details about the same, leaving fans excited and confused. As soon as her statements went viral on social media, one user on X (formerly Twitter) wrote, “They gonna release BTS clips of the movie into a full fledged film and release it on theatres.” Another fan commented, “I hope Aditya isn’t being forced to extend the Dhurandhar brand when everything has ended so nicely.” A third user penned, “This is the BEST news…is it what I think it is?” A fourth fan shared, “Dhurandhar will be remembered for ages.”
When is the upcoming Dhurandhar film expected to release?
While the director, Aditya Dhar has not opened up about the upcoming project, a source close to the makers sat a conversation with Hindustan Times in April 2026. During the conversation, the source explained that the makers are planning to release the behind-the-scenes in the form of a movie. Reportedly, it is expected to release somewhere in late 2026. The source was quoted as saying:
“The craze for Dhurandhar is so much that the makers have decided to turn even the making of the film into a spectacle. All the BTS footages and cast interviews together will be collated into a full-length feature film and will be unveiled as a theatrical release in the last quarter of 2026, and then eventually make it to the OTT platform as well on which the films will be streaming.”

Dhurandhar, directed by Aditya Dhar is one of the best Bollywood films of recent times. It managed to break the long standing records of Saiyaara and Baahubali. For those who missed it, the story revolves around an Indian undercover agent, ‘Hamza’ (Ranveer Singh), who is sent to Pakistan, to finish the most dangerous gang. The film stars Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sara Arjun, Rakesh Bedi and more.
Dhurandhar was released in December 2026 and the sequel, Dhurandhar: The Revenge hit the silver screens in March 2026. It is worth noting that the sequel featured a cameo by Aditya Dhar’s wife, Yami Gautam. If reports are to be believed, the movie crossed Rs. 1,1790 crore worldwide within 40-50 days. Over the past few months, the film has received a lot of love and support from several Bollywood and South celebrities like Anupam Kher, Yash, Karan Johar, Rajinikanth, Allu Arjun, Shilpa Shetty, Javed Akhtar and more.
