However, even amid such a condition, Joni was able to spend her last moments before death at her home in Bedford, Texas. Her company, Daystar, announced her death in a heartbreaking post, recalling her faith in God even in the face of hostilities. Even her last post was based on similar sentiments.

Joni Lamb shared a meaningful final post, which went viral shortly after news of her death due to prolonged health issues. The final message was, however, posted on X (formerly Twitter) just hours after her death, which raised eyebrows. It was on spiritual resilience and surrendering to God’s will. As someone who was in constant pain due to her medical condition, Joni had clung to her last bit of hope and faith in God. The Daystar president shared:
“The battles we face are always won on our knees! Surrender it to God and He will be faithful to do what you never could on your own.”

The netizens initially were very confused as to how Joni shared the X post just hours after her demise, when Daystar clearly mentioned that she was not in a good physical state in her final days. Remarks regarding the same have been posted in the post’s comment section. One of them asked, “how did you die this morning yet post this 2 hours ago?” Another social media user clarified the confusion and wrote, “Joni does not do these posts, Daystar workers do it.” The information generated immense backlash against Daystar as the public found it “creepy and distasteful to post from her account being she just passed today?”
The commenters alleged, “It’s about the likes and clicks they want. Stay classy, Daystar.” Another user echoing similar sentiments wrote, “Who is posting om Jonis act its not her. WHY DIDN’T LET Jonathan say goodbye to his mom. Disgusting. Doesn’t matter what happened. It was his mom. Well Jesus is dealing with her now and unforgiveness. What is it to gain your world and loose your soul.” According to the person’s remarks, Joni’s estranged son, Jonathan, was allowed to bid his mom farewell; however, this explosive claim has not yet been verified.

According to Daystar’s official statement, Joni had been dealing with prolonged major medical issues. But chose to keep her battle private. The network mentioned that amid that, she faced another setback as a new back injury deteriorated her condition. In turn, it created more complications that led to a serious health situation in the days leading up to her death. Despite the attempts from doctors and good wishes from her supporters, her health continued to decline. In their words:
“The back injury compounded those challenges and led to a more serious medical situation than anyone anticipated. Despite the dedicated efforts of her medical team and the prayers of so many around the world, her condition worsened in the last few days. “Joni’s love for the Lord and for the people we serve shaped this ministry from the beginning. We grieve her loss, and we are grateful for the legacy of faith she leaves behind.”
Daystar confirmed that Joni’s last days were all about the rapid increase of her condition. Although her exact cause of death is not shared in detail with the public, the ministry confirmed that her back injury played a primary role in increasing her health challenges.
