New England Patriot head coach, Mike Vrabel and ex-NFL reporter, Dianna Russini, have been embroiled in a scandalous controversy. Ever since both of them were reportedly seen being cosy in a resort in Arizona, the internet has gone berserk related to the same. Now, New England Patriots quarterback, Drake Maye, amid Mike’s off-field controversy, has supported Mike in public and even called him a ‘good man’.

Drake Maye had taken part in the Truist Championship Pro-AM back at Quail Hollow, located in Charlotte, North Carolina. In an interview with the Associated Press, he revealed how he supported Mike Vrabel and also called him a good person. The Patriots quarterback, Drake, shared that Vrabel has been a ‘great human being’, and the fact is that he does not believe that the off-field issues of his life with Dianna shall distract the team from the upcoming season. Drake, in the interview, shared:
“No, I don’t. I mean, he’s our head coach. I think he’s done a great job of talking to us and talking us through it. I’m just looking forward to getting back to work and getting ready.”
Mike Vrabel had taken accountability for his actions
It is interesting to note that, in the past couple of months, there have been many media outlets that reported that Dianna Russini and Mike Vrbel have been seeing one another for about six years, despite both of them being married. Mike has been hogging the limelight, and questions related to his performance as a coach are being raised. Mike, according to the New York Post, had taken accountability for his actions and had shared:
“I take accountability for my actions and the actions that caused a distraction to the people that I care most about— my family, this football team, the organisation, and our fans. My previous actions don’t meet the standard that I hold myself to. They don’t.”
Drake Maye feels Mike Vrabel has the right mindset
Mike Vrabel had missed the third day of the NFL draft to attend the counselling session. He had spoken to the team many times on the matter. When Drake was asked further whether the Patriots had to put anything behind them before the new season started, he said the team would take care of itself. In his words:
“I know he’s got the right mindset, and I know he’s a great human being. I think he’s … like I said, I love playing for him. We’re here for coach. We love coach — what he does for us, what he’s done for us this past year, you can’t speak into words.Just thankful he’s our head coach. I know he’s doing some stuff off the field and out of the coaching world, but we’re here for him and I know he’s gonna come back.”

Drake had firmly revealed that he was not concerned about Mike Vrabel being the Patriots’ head coach in the 2026 NFL season. Mike Vrabel initially laughed off when the scandalous pictures of him and Dianna Russini surfaced on social media. Dianna also claimed that the photos did not represent the group of six people who were hanging out during the day. Well, Mike Vrabel and Dianna Russini’s personal life is continuing to hog all the limelight. The Patriots are focused on the football season, while Drake Maye has been one of the most evolved stars.
