For those unaware, Chirayu reportedly accused her of a prolonged period of sexual abuse. He even went on to file a lawsuit against her using the pseudonym, John Doe. Amid this, a recent report suggests that Chirayu was referred for mental health treatment by prosecutors.
Prosecutors referred Chirayu Rana for mental health treatment after a criminal investigation was launched
On Wednesday, May 7, 2026, sources revealed to The New York Post that ex-JPMorgan banker, Chirayu Rana was referred for mental health treatment by prosecutors after they launched a criminal investigation into his claims. Well, to be precise, the referral came after the investigation into his claims that a senior banker turned him into a ‘sex slave’ found nothing. According to two sources familiar with the case, the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office started looking into Chirayu’s shocking sex abuse allegations against Lorna Hajdini last summer.
Reportedly, Chirayu’s former company, JPMorgan, has insisted that his claims are completely fabricated. For those unaware, Chirayu had filed the lawsuit last week, accusing Lorna of drugging him, coercing him into degrading sexual acts, and even calling him racist names and threatening his career if he refused her. To mention, it was unclear whether Chirayu initially went to the DA’s office first with the allegations or not. However, according to the sources for the Post, the investigation was closed because no evidence of criminal wrongdoing was uncovered.
What evidence did Chirayu Rana provide to back his claims?
According to the New York Post, Chirayu referenced the “open criminal investigation” in addition to his referral under the DA office’s victim support services, in updated court filings, which were filed on Monday, May 4, 2026, where he also asked to remain anonymous in the suit.
Considering how explosive Chirayu’s claims are, he has prepared some equally noteworthy evidence to back them up. As per reports, Chirayu alleged in his filings that he had been enrolled in the state’s “Address Confidentiality Program.” For the uninitiated, the program usually tends to offer victims of sex crimes an alternative address to keep them safe. Apparently, he enrolled in the program last year, in September 2025, following a referral by the DA’s office.
Chirayu said that a counsellor with the “Survivor Services Bureau of the New York County District Attorney’s Office” had “engaged with me in connection with the open criminal investigation by the Manhattan District Attorney’s Trial Division.” Furthermore, his affidavit stated that he said the DA’s investigation and referral to victims’ services showed “independent third-party institutional engagement with me as a victim, predating my months of the filing of this action.” In his filing, Chirayu noted that he had actually sought mental health care himself from a psychotherapist called Jonathan Albert.
This was reportedly in early February, 2025, months before the DA’s referral. He went on to include an email that he sent to the therapist in June 2025. In it, Chirayu described several of his mental health symptoms, which include Lorna Hajdini’s voice inside his head, in addition to experiencing recurring nightmares about the alleged sexual abuse that he faced. As per the filing, Chirayu had claimed that the therapist had diagnosed him with PTSD just a few months later, in October 2025.
