Tech company Xiaomi has launched its new premium smartphone Xiaomi 17T and Xiaomi FX Mini LED TV in India. The smartphone comes with a 50MP Laika camera with 120x zoom, 6500mAh battery and flagship level features.
The company has introduced this phone especially for those users who want premium design, powerful performance and high-end camera experience. Xiaomi 17T has been introduced in two variants.
Its initial variant with 12GB RAM + 256GB storage has been priced at Rs 59,999, but after a discount of ₹ 5000 in the launch offer, it can be purchased for Rs 54,999. In India, it will compete with smartphones like OnePlus 15R and Vivo V70.
Whereas, Xiaomi FX Mini LED TV has been introduced in 4 variants. Its starting price was kept at Rs 32,999. Currently, it can be purchased for Rs 29,999 in the launch offer. The phone sale will start from June 10 and the TV sale will start from June 11.
Xiaomi 17T: Design, dimensions and in-hand feel
Material and Texture: The back panel and side frame of the phone is made of premium finish plastic material, which gives a smooth glass-like feel when held in the hand. Its look is quite simple and minimalistic.
Dimensions and Weight: The phone is just 8.17mm thin and weighs around 201.8 grams. However, due to the slim design and weight distribution, it feels quite light, small and compact in the hand. The phone will be available in 3 color options Violet, Blue and Black.
Ports and Buttons: A speaker grill, USB Type-C port, microphone and a dual nano SIM tray are provided at the bottom of the phone. The left side of the phone is completely clean. The power button is given in the perfect position on its right side and the volume rocker buttons are given just above it. The special thing is that there is no port or visible hole on its top, but it supports IR blaster.
Front Display and Safety: The bezels on the front are quite thin, which gives a good screen-to-body ratio. The selfie camera is in the center with a punch-hole design. It has got the top rating of IP68 for protection against water and dust.
Xiaomi 17T: Specifications and features
Display: Xiaomi 17T has a 6.59-inch 1.5K AMOLED display, whose resolution is 2756 x 1268 pixels. It supports 120Hz refresh rate and 480Hz touch sampling rate.
Its peak brightness is 3500 nits, which means there will be no problem in visibility even in bright sunlight. To protect the display, it has the protection of Corning Gorilla Glass 7i. Apart from this it comes with Dolby Vision and HDR10+ support.
Camera: For photography, this phone has a triple rear camera setup with optical lens of camera company ‘Laika’. It includes a 50MP primary camera (Light Fusion 800 sensor) with OIS support, a 50MP periscope telephoto camera, and a 12MP ultra-wide angle camera.
The camera app supports 120x AI zoom with modes like Camera Authentic and Camera Vibrant. A 32MP camera is provided in the front for selfie.
Performance and Software: The smartphone works on MediaTek Dimensity 8500-Ultra processor built on 4nm architecture. It has Mali-G720 MC8 GPU for graphics and NPU 880 AI engine for AI tasks. LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage technology has been used in the phone.
To protect from heating, it has Xiaomi’s 3D Iceloop cooling system. This phone runs on Xiaomi Hyper OS 3 based on the latest Android 16, which supports many in-built AI features like AI Writing, Circle to Search and Google Gemini.
Power Backup: The phone has a large 6500mAh silicon-carbon battery, which provides long playback time and backup. It supports 67W HyperCharge fast charging, 50W charging, and 22.5W wired reverse charging. However, the company is not including an adapter in the box, only Type-A to Type-C cable will be available in the box.
Connectivity and more: This phone has an in-display fingerprint sensor and AI face unlock. For audio, dual stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support are available. On the connectivity front, it is equipped with Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC and eSIM support along with physical SIM. It does not have a traditional 3.5mm audio jack.
