
The mysterious passing of model and actress, Twisha Sharma has generated immense buzz. The 33-year-old Noida-based woman was found deceased on May 12, 2026, in her marital home in Bhopal’s Katara Hills. The reason for her death was reported as suicide, but was contested by the bereaved family. They alleged that severe dowry harassment, physical and mental torment by Twisha’s husband, Samarth Singh and her in-laws pushed her to take the extreme step. Amid the Sharmas and Singhs take the dispute to court, Twisha’s brother, Major Harshit Sharma made some heartbreaking statements.
Twisha Sharma’s brother shared what mistake created the circumstances that led to her death
During a May 2026 chat with journalist, Barkha Dutt for Mojo Story, Twisha Sharma‘s brother made some poignant remarks regarding his late elder sister. Major Harshit Sharma felt that she had made one big blunder, which later proved fatal for her. According to him, Twisha’s decision to marry Samarth Singh was both the first and the last mistake of her life, as she had no chance to rectify it. Revisiting the painful memories, Harshit stated:
“Her [Twisha Sharma’s] first mistake proved to be her last mistake.”

Twisha Sharma’s brother will carry one regret forever
Twisha was supposed to return to Ajmer on May 15, 2026, to meet her brother, Harshit. The tickets were already booked, but three days before that, she hanged herself, leaving Harshit with a scar for life. When Barkha Dutt asked him whether he wished he could have brought her home early, he held back his grief and answered calmly that it would be the one regret he carries throughout his life. He thought he could’ve done things differently, including putting more effort to try and convince his sister to return to them. Blaming himself for his decision-making, Harshit stated:
“I think that question will always remain with her throughout my life. And I have no right answer to this. I do not consider that I made the right decision. I do feel my efforts were lacking. I should’ve just convinced her [to come back home].”

Twisha Sharma expressed her wish to return home in her final conversation with her family members
In a recent conversation with Times Now, Twisha Sharma’s sister-in-law, Rashi Sharma, said, “Twisha regularly mentioned harassment by [her husband] Samarth Singh.” Recalling Twisha’s final conversation with her family, Rashi mentioned her sister-in-law was “stressed and upset” because of Samarth’s behaviour. As per her, in her final days, Twisha kept on insisting to go back to he own home, resume her career and start afresh; however, none of that happened, and she ultimately passed away from a suspected suicide. Mourning her untimely demise, Rashi stated:
“We want to grieve. We want to cremate her the way it should be done. Twisha was stressed and upset because of the actions of Samarth Singh. In her last conversation with us during a conference call, she said, ‘I want to come back home. I want to do my job and leave this shit behind.'”

Twisha Sharma’s father shared that his daughter was unhappy with her marriage right from the beginning
Twisha Sharma’s father, Navnidhi Sharma spoke to NDTV, revealing that Samarth, at times, physically abused her. Navnidhi stated that early in the marriage, his son-in-law displayed a “criminal mindset” when he became angry and pushed Twisha at the airport on the way to their honeymoon. After that, Twisha asked her brother for advice, who told her it was too early to judge him and that she should give their relationship some time. The Sharma family now regrets trying to coerce Twisha into not giving up on her marriage and returning home.
