Cricket legend, Sachin Tendulkar, and his wife, Anjali, are celebrating 31 years of marriage. Amid this, their daughter, Sara Tendulkar, shared an unseen picture of her parents from their younger days on Instagram, which is garnering a lot of attention.

A while ago, Sara Tendulkar took to her Instagram to share a never-before-seen picture of her parents, Sachin Tendulkar and Anjali, on the occasion of their 31st wedding anniversary. The black-and-white picture features a photo frame with a snap of Sachin and Anjali, in which the pair can be seen smiling happily. It is worth noting that the picture seems to have been taken in their younger years. Sara Tendulkar captioned the post, “Happy Anniversary. How did I get so lucky?”

Within just a few minutes of Sara Tendulkar posting the picture of Sachin and Anjali, fans have already started reacting to it. As of now, the post has already garnered over 83.2k likes. Many fans congratulated the couple and wished them a happy anniversary. One user wrote, “Happy anniversary to the sweetest couples! These are made for each other! So Cute picture!” Another wrote, “Your mom and dad are the best couple in the world. May they both always be together and happy. Happy anniversary.” A third user penned, “Age doesn’t matter if u truly love each other.” A comment read, “I left watching cricket when he retired. Such an impact he had on me. Wishing you a very happy anniversary.” One fan, even referring to Sara, jokingly wrote, “Aap kab shadi kar rahi ho?” A fan penned:
“You got good luck because your mother met Sachin Sir. Happy Anniversary.”
Sachin Tendulkar and Anjali Tendulkar’s love story
According to reports, Anjali and Sachin Tendulkar met for the first time at the Mumbai airport. At the time, Anjali was waiting at the airport for her mother to arrive from England. This is when she spotted a young Sachin wearing jeans and a simple T-shirt. During a conversation with cricket commentator, Harsha Bhogle, Anjali later confessed:
“I saw him and thought he was really cute. I forgot about my mother and ran after him, shouting, ‘Sachin! Sachin!’”
After Anjali ran after him, Sachin kept looking down the whole time, but the one thing that he did notice about her was the colour of her T-shirt. When Anjali later asked him if he remembered her, he said that he recalled her wearing an orange T-shirt. Well, once Anjali found out that the boy she chased after was none other than India’s cricket sensation, she managed to find a way to call him.
She revealed that she got Sachin’s number through a friend whose cousin knew him, and although he usually never picked up the phone, one day he did. As soon as she introduced herself as the girl from the airport, Sachin remembered her. This first phone call turned into hours of conversations, and the duo slowly developed a deeper bond.
Sachin and Anjali went on to date for five years before tying the knot on May 24, 1995. By the time, Sachin had already risen as one of India’s cricketing icons; however, for Anjali, he was still the same humble boy she had first met at the airport. Unlike many other celebrity weddings, their marriage was a quiet affair in the presence of their family and friends.
It is worth noting that before their marriage, Anjali was a brilliant student and a successful paediatrician. But after their marriage, she had to take a step back from her medical career, especially after the birth of her and Sachin’s children, Sara and Arjun. However, she revealed that she has never regretted that choice and the duo have been happily married for 31 years now.
