
Mackenzie Shirilla is once again trending all over the internet ever since Netflix aired The Crash, documenting her harrowing case, in which she was convicted of murdering her boyfriend. For the unversed, the incident happened in 2022 when Mackenzie Shirilla crashed her car after ramming it into a building. Her boyfriend, Dominic Russo, and their friend, 19-year-old Davion Flanagan were in the car and died on the spot.

Mackenzie Shirilla and Dominic Russo had been in a relationship but it had its highs and lows. The duo would often end up fighting with each other over frivolous matter. And Dominic’s mom even claimed in the court that Mackenzie often threatened Dominic during their verbal fights. And now, TMZ obtained a few disturbing texts of Mackenzie and Dominic.

The texts were a part of the police investigation into Mackenzie’s fatal car crash that killed Dominic and their friend, Davion Flanagan. The texts looked disturbing as Mackenzie appeared upset as she texted Dominic, “I’m gonna kill someone, I just want to bang my head on the wall till I’m dead”. In the texts, Mackenzie also complained the way Dominic treated her.

Did Mackenzie Shirilla visit the site of the crash weeks before the accident?
Netflix’s documentary, The Crash renewed people’s interest in Mackenzie Shirilla’s story. The Crash is not the only documentary to have been made about Shirilla’s case. There are two other documentaries made on the same and were praised for having ‘way more details’. There were reports that Mackenzie had been on the same road a few days before the crash. A user on Reddit pointed out that Mackenzie’s presence on the same road led the prosecution to present it as her doing a dry run before the actual crash.

Mackenzie Shirilla’s aunt defended her niece in the double homicide case
According to a report by TMZ, Mackenzie Shirilla’s aunt, Candace Shipley, defended her niece in the double homicide case and told the judge that she was “very much in love” with her boyfriend, Dominic Russo. The outlet obtained legal documents filed by Mackenzie, who challenged her prison sentence. In the court document, the 17-year-old (now 21-year-old) accused argued that prosecutors failed to prove she had a real motive to kill her boyfriend, Dominic and his friend, Davion.

Mackenzie revealed that her aunt, Candice, said that she spent three hours with the two on July 28, 2022, “as the couple was scheduled to watch her dogs in the coming days.” Mackenzie claimed that her aunt, Candice, testified that she did not observe any signs of “discomfort or unhappiness between Dominic and Mackenzie”. Mackenzie pointed out that her aunt said that she and Dominic appeared “very much in love and spoke about their future plans together.”

Dominic’s mother’s lawyer claimed Mackenzie intentionally crashed the car
During the trial, Mackenzie and her parents kept affirming that she passed out due to medical emergency and doesn’t remember anything about the accident. On the other hand, the prosecuting lawyers argued that she intentionally crashed the car to end her relationship with Dominic. During the trial several ugly fights were revealed which happened between the couple.

As per the reports, Dominic wanted to end their relationship in June 2022. Lawyers highlighted that the couple’s past fight and Mackenzie threatening and trying to break into Dominic’s house is a motive that points out at her intent to kill him.
