Model and actress, Twisha Sharma’s untimely death has garnered nationwide attention. Twisha was a 31-year-old Noida-based professional, who was found deceased on May 12, 2026, in her marital home in Bhopal’s Katara Hills. Her death, which was initially suspected as suicide, has triggered intense reactions and theories. Twisha’s family contested the suicide claims and alleged severe dowry harassment, physical and mental torment, and murder. Now, the case has deepened with a call recording between Twisha’s brother, Major Harshit Sharma and her mother-in-law, Giribala Singh being released.
Twisha Sharma’s mother-in-law labelled her as unfaithful in shocking call leak
Twisha Sharma’s family alleged that she faced relentless character assassination from her in-laws, particularly her husband, Samarth Singh and her mother-in-law, Giribala Singh. Amid the claims, a call recording surfaced where Giribala was heard speaking to Twisha’s brother, Harshit regarding her sexual life with her past partners. In the leaked audio, he was heard confronting Giribala, asking how a motherly figure could raise such deeply humiliating questions regarding her daughter-in-law’s character. Notably, the authenticity of the heated phone conversation is subject to verification. The statement by Giribala, which prompted such a reaction by Harshit, was:
“Promiscuity can become a habit.”
Giribala Singh’s response to Harshit Singh’s confrontation
In the audio, Twisha Sharma’s mother-in-law was heard giving a fiery response to Harshit’s accusation that she had defamed his sister. Giribala defended her actions as her “right” to question her daughter-in-law. She justified putting Twisha in a spot by questioning her about her past relationships and sexual history. As per her, someone who engages in physical relationships with their boyfriends will be prone to adultery even after their marriage. As per Giribala, she had a conversation with Twisha to let her know that such behaviour would not be tolerated from her daughter-in-law.
Twisha Sharma’s mother-in-law’s other explosive allegations against her
Retired judge, Giribala Singh made several defamatory remarks against her late daughter-in-law. After Twisha’s death, Giribala held a press conference, where she labelled the deceased as “schizophrenic” with a “troubled personality” who allegedly required constant psychiatric monitoring. She also accused Twisha of heavy marijuana consumption and experiencing drug withdrawal symptoms. She further alleged that Twisha became unstable upon learning of her pregnancy and unilaterally decided on an abortion.

Giribala also claimed that Twisha’s parents forced her to join the entertainment industry for financial gain and later cut ties with her, leading to her mental health deterioration. She basically washed her hands of all allegations of illtreatment towards her daughter-in-law. Twisha’s sister-in-law, Rashi Sharma slammed Giribala for her defamatory remarks and claimed that it showed that the Singhs were not affected by Twisha’s death at all. Rashi felt that Giribala’s public statement hints that she might have treated Twisha even worse when the latter was alive. She told Times Now:
“While our family is grieving here, the prime accused’s mother is going from one channel to another, leaving no stone unturned to defame the deceased. If she is behaving like this now, one can imagine how she was before.”

Twisha Sharma, a 33-year-old former Miss Pune contestant and Noida resident, was found dead on May 12, 2026, in her matrimonial home in the Katara Hills area of Bhopal. The tragic incident took place just five months after her marriage. A preliminary post-mortem report from AIIMS Bhopal indicated that she died of hanging. However, her family alleges murder as her final messages to her mother indicated unbearable mental torture by her in-laws. Police filed an FIR for dowry harassment and abetment of suicide against the Singhs, following which Samarth has been on the run.
