Moreover, it seems like the legendary actor has been going through a tough time health-wise, as he was recently admitted to Mumbai’s Nanavati hospital. Now, according to the latest reports, he has been discharged.
Amitabh Bachchan was admitted to Mumbai’s Ninavati Hospital due to old wounds sustained on Coolie sets
A while back, journalist, Vickey Lalwani took to his YouTube channel and shared a video about Amitabh Bachchan. In the clip, the journalist shared that Big B was admitted to Mumbai’s Ninavati hospital on May 16, 2026, due to old wounds sustained on Coolie sets. According to Vickey, Amitabh Bachchan was admitted to Ninavati Hospital’s A wing, 3rd floor, VIP enclosure.

On May 19, 2026, Abhishek Bachchan came to visit his dad in the hospital. Vickey shared that Amitabh Bachchan has been suffering from stomach issues for a long time. Currently, Big B is improving, and his condition is stable. According to a report by NDTV, Amitabh Bachchan has been discharged. The outlet mentioned that Big B went for a routine. However, BollywoodShaadis couldn’t confirm the facts, and everything is based on social media reports.

Big B was declared ‘clinically dead’ after he sustained a near-fatal injury during a fight sequence on the sets of Coolie
While the hit film, Coolie brought major success in Amitabh Bachchan’s life, a fighting sequence left him deeply injured. He was once ‘clinically dead’ in the hospital. The unfortunate incident took place on the sets of Coolie. For the unversed, during an intense fight sequence with actor, Puneet Issar, a mistimed jump caused Big B to hit the corner of a table, leading to a severe internal injury. Initially, what began a routine stunt soon turned into a life-threatening accident.

Amitabh was rushed to the hospital and was bleeding internally. A group of specialised doctors came together and treated him. However, his condition got critical. As the hours passed, Big B’s vitals gradually dropped to almost zero, and doctors even declared him ‘clinically dead.’ The disheartening news had spread like wildfire within a matter of hours; friends and politicians, including Bachchan’s close friend, Rajiv Gandhi, prayed for his speedy recovery.

At the time, many fans of his fasted, and some even walked barefoot to holy sites and prayed for his well-being. Recalling the tough phase, in a past interview with Simi Garewal, Amitabh Bachchan shared that he was in a coma. Big B mentioned that after the surgery, he couldn’t come out of anaesthesia for 12 to 14 hours. The veteran actor added that there was hardly any pulse, and his BP was down to almost zero. He was quoted as saying:
“I was in a coma. I had ruptured my intestine in the accident on the set. And then there was the surgery which was conducted almost as an emergency. We went to Bombay 5 days later, the sutures ruptured, and I had to have another surgery. It was the end of that surgery where I couldn’t come out of anaesthesia for 12-14 hours. That’s when they felt it was all over because there was hardly any pulse, BP was down to almost zero.”
