Workers of the government telecom company Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) have requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi to help the company. Employee unions of BSNL have requested Prime Minister Modi to direct all government offices and government companies to compulsorily use the company’s 4G services.
a media Report According to the Indian Telecom Forum, Ravi Shil Verma, Chairman, and RC Pandey, Convenor, Indian Telecom Forum, have said in a letter to the Prime Minister, “It is suggested that BSNL’s indigenous 4G services be made mandatory for mobile connections whose cost is compensated from public funds. This includes central and state governments as well as public sector entities.”
These employee unions of BSNL say that such instructions will strengthen national security and the company will get financial help. Along with this, this step will also be important for the government’s vision of ‘self-reliant India’. The company has started 4G network in many areas of the country. The design of BSNL’s 4G network is cloud-based, which can also be upgraded to 5G network. The company has also completed testing for 5G network. BSNL’s 5G service can be called Q-5G. In recent months, the company has also launched some new services.
Private telecom companies like Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel already have 5G networks. BSNL is finding it difficult to compete with these companies. Recently, Telecom Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia had said that there is no plan to privatize this government telecom company. He said, “BSNL is connected with the people of India and it is for the people of the country.” On the company’s 4G network, Scindia had said that there are two options for this – purchase telecom equipment from foreign companies or develop capabilities in the country. Earlier, along with increasing the number of customers from the company, Scindia Mobile Was asked to increase the revenue from service by 50 percent.
