Redmi’s gaming smartphone series will come with the name Turbo 5: Features like MediaTek Dimension 8500-Ultra chipset and 100W fast charging will be available.


Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi is preparing to launch its performance-oriented ‘Turbo’ series for the first time in India. The company has released its teaser on social media platform X. The phone will come with MediaTek Dimension 8500-Ultra chipset. This phone has been launched in China, where its starting price is Yuan 1,999 (about ₹ 28,200). Its price in India can be around Rs 45 thousand and it can be introduced on June 5. It will compete with smartphones like OnePlus Nord 6 and Vivo V70 FE. The phone will be equipped with MediaTek Dimension 8500-Ultra chipset. For performance, the phone has been provided with MediaTek Dimension 8500-Ultra chipset. This phone has been specially designed keeping in mind those users who do gaming and heavy tasks. The phone is expected to have excellent thermal stability and gaming performance. IP69K rating has been given for strength. The phone has a glass back with metal frame. This phone is also quite advanced in terms of durability. It has got high ratings like IP66, IP68 and IP69K for dust and water protection. Talking about storage, it has up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB UFS 4.1 internal storage. 7560mAh Battery and 100W Fast Charging The biggest feature of Redmi Turbo 5 is its 7560mAh silicon-carbon battery. It is being claimed in some media reports that the battery capacity can be up to 9000mAh. To charge the phone, there will be support for 100W wired fast charging and 27W reverse charging. 1.5K AMOLED display and 50MP camera Redmi Turbo 5 has a 6.59-inch 1.5K AMOLED display, which supports 120Hz refresh rate. For photography, a 50MP Sony IMX882 primary camera with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) is available on its back panel.
