Mumbai Indians is expected to be without both Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav for its IPL 2026 match against Punjab Kings on May 14.
In both players’ absence, Jasprit Bumrah will lead MI.
This will be the first time since 2022 that Mumbai Indians will play a match without both players in its side.
The last instance of such an occurrence came in the final match of the 2022 season against Delhi Capitals at the Wankhede Stadium, which MI won by five wickets.
The match happened while Hardik was still at Gujarat Titans, while Suryakumar missed the final few matches of the season through injury.
In the match, MI managed to restrict DC to 159 for seven thanks to a three-wicket haul by Bumrah, before Ishan Kishan’s 48 and Tim David’s blistering 11-ball 34 saw it over the line with five balls to spare.
Rohit Sharma led Mumbai Indians in that fixture.
