In recent times, the biggest criticism regarding Windows 11 has been its slow performance and delayed loading of system elements. In such a situation, Microsoft is now not only upgrading the features of Windows, but is also improving the base framework on which many system elements work.

Microsoft software engineer Beth Pan said that the company is improving performance at many levels. This not only involves shifting the interface elements of Windows to the new framework, but the WinUI framework itself is also being made faster and optimized. The company has used File Explorer and Notepad as benchmarks for performance testing.

According to the company, due to the changes made in WinUI, improvements have been seen in the launch time of File Explorer in many places. Microsoft has said that these changes will soon be visible in the development branch, after which they will be rolled out to the winui3/main branch.

Beth Pan also told that different teams of Windows are working together on this, so that end-to-end performance can be improved. The company is considering this as part of long-term quality and fundamental improvement.

Apart from this, Microsoft is also working on features like Low Latency Profile Mode in Windows 11. This feature increases the system’s CPU frequency to its maximum level for a few seconds, allowing the system to respond more quickly. Although there was some criticism regarding this feature, similar technology is also used in other operating systems like macOS and Linux.

The company believes that improvements to the WinUI framework, migration of system elements, and new performance features will together make Windows 11 faster and smoother than before.
