Honda has launched the new NX500 in India with its e-clutch technology. Its ex-showroom price is ₹7.44 lakh. The biggest feature of this new technology is that now the rider will not have to use the clutch lever while changing gear.

Honda’s e-clutch technology uses electronic actuators. It automatically operates the clutch while shifting gears or while stopping and starting the bike.
The special thing is that the rider can take manual control of the clutch whenever he wants. Both clutch lever and gear paddle are provided in the bike. The e-clutch mechanism is quite compact, due to which the weight of the bike has increased by only 3 kg and now its total weight is 199 kg.
₹1.11 lakh costlier than the old model
In terms of price, the new NX500 has become much more expensive than before. The e-clutch variant costs ₹1.11 lakh more than the old model (conventional clutch). In the market, it will compete directly with BMW F 450 GS Trophy (priced at ₹ 5.30 lakh) and Kawasaki Versys 650 (priced at ₹ 8.63 lakh). This bike of Honda is known for its strength and low maintenance cost.
No change in engine and performance
Apart from e-clutch, other mechanical features of the bike remain the same. It has the same old 471cc twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine.
The engine generates power of 47hp at 8,500 rpm. The bike has a 6-speed gearbox. For suspension, USD fork is provided at the front and monoshock at the rear.
For braking, there are two 296 mm disc brakes at the front and a 240 mm single disc brake at the rear. For safety, it has been provided with dual channel ABS.
Booking started, available in two colors
The NX500 e-Clutch is offered in two colors – White and Black. Its booking has started at all authorized Honda Bigwing dealerships. The bike has features like 5-inch TFT screen and switchable traction control. However, riding modes are not provided in it.
