The public interest has especially been drawn towards her son, Jonathan Lamb, and daughter-in-law, Suzy Lamb. Apart from being a family, they have also been long connected to the Daystar TV network empire. Suzy, who is married to Joni’s only son, was once a part of the ministry. However, family tensions pushed them apart. Now, Joni’s death has once again brought her into the spotlight.
Who is Suzy Lamb?
Suzy Lamb joined the Daystar family after marrying Jonathan Lamb in 2011. They share two kids: a daughter, Arielle, and a son, Israel. They have been strongly connected to the ministry and broadcasting. Suzy originally hails from Dallas, Texas. According to a report from The Roy’s Reports, she studied divinity at Christ For The Nations. At the same time, she studied business at Dallas Baptist University. In turn, Suzy’s educational background helped her become part of the Christian media. Gradually, she became actively involved in Daystar’s programming with the Lamb family.
After her marriage, Suzy was not just a part of the Lamb family but even a significant member of Daystar. She served as a host and executive producer on multiple programs, including The Green Room. According to alleged Daystar archives and program credits, she often appeared on-air and participated in the network’s events. It made her one of the ministry’s most popular faces. Alongside her husband, Jonathan, she eventually stepped into independent media and co-hosted their family-centered podcast on personal faith and parenting.
Joni Lamb and Suzy Lamb’s complicated ties
Despite being Joni Lamb’s only daughter-in-law, Suzy’s relationship with Joni and the Daystar leadership became strained in 2024. It began after she and Jonathan publicly alleged that a male relative harmed their young daughter. In turn, they accused Daystar leadership of mishandling and covering up the matter. In turn, it became a cause of a major rift in the family. Jonathan also alleged that he faced professional repercussions after refusing to remain silent on the matter. On the other hand, Joni denied all the claims and criticised them for falsely damaging the network’s reputation. The issue remained unsolved until she died in 2026.

Apart from her massive wealth, Joni Lamb’s personal life was rooted in family and ministry. She was initially married to Marcus Lamb in 1982. But after nearly 40 years of their marriage, he passed away in 2021 after suffering from COVID-19. Later, she married Doug Weiss, a Christian counselor and author. He also joined Daystar programming frequently. At the same time, Joni is survived by her husband and three kids from her first marriage, Jonathan, Rachel, and Rebecca, all of whom remain closely involved in the network’s operations.
