Nancy Guthrie has been missing for over three months now. Her disappearance became a global phenomenon due to her daughter, Savannah Guthrie, who is the co-anchor of Today. For the unversed, the 84-year-old resident of Tucson, Arizona, left her home on February 1, 2026. Nancy’s daughter, Annie Guthrie and her husband, Tommaso Cioni, were the last ones to see her before her alleged abduction. Amid the ongoing investigation, Nancy and Anna’s neighbourhoods come under threat.
Nancy Guthrie and Annie Guthrie’s neighbourhoods are under threat, what is the Pima County Sheriff’s Department doing?
On May 4, 2026, KVOA reported that the Pima County Sheriff’s Department has been continuing patrolling in the neighbourhood of Annie and Tommaso Cioni, as well as Nancy’s neighbourhood. In recent times, the department has received complaints regarding a YouTuber causing disturbances in those areas. As the probe is still underway, over 300 tips have been sent to police. KVOA has confirmed in their report that over 300 tips had been submitted to 88-CRIME in April 2026.

Why did the speculation about Tommaso and Annie Guthrie’s involvement in Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance begin to circulate again?
According to a report by Hindustan Times, Anna’s car was seized by law enforcement for further investigation. The car remained in their custody for several weeks. The reason behind seizing the vehicle was to collect DNA evidence. As of now, despite obtaining a number of tips, neither the Pima County Sheriff’s Department nor the FBI has succeeded in finding a suspect. They are also analysing the DNA evidence.

It is worth mentioning that County Sheriff Chris Nanos, who is investigating the Nancy Guthrie missing case with the FBI, reportedly cleared every member of the Guthrie family, including Tommaso and Anna. In February 2026, he issued a statement clarifying that all siblings and spouses were ruled out as suspects. The FBI also supported the stance. Chris said:
“To be clear… the Guthrie family, to include all siblings and spouses, has been cleared as possible suspects. The family has been nothing but cooperative and gracious and are victims in this case. To suggest otherwise is not only wrong, it is cruel. The Guthrie family are victims, plain and simple.”

Suspicious man wearing gloves and a mask spotted in Nancy Guthrie’s neighbourhood 3 months after her disappearance
A suspicious man wearing a mask and gloves has been spotted in Nancy Guthrie’s neighbourhood three months after her disappearance. As police continue to hunt for Nancy’s suspected abductor, a prowler was filmed in a similar garb. The mysterious man came to a house in Nancy’s neighbourhood at night in a grey pickup truck on April 28, 2026. According to Ring Camera footage obtained by News 4 Tucson, the suspicious masked man stole plants from the front porch before driving away. The incident took place three months after Nancy went missing from her house in the Catalina Foothills neighbourhood.

This recent incident has once again sparked concerns in the area. People in the area widely circulated this ring camera footage video, as the neighbourhood is usually quiet and safe. In fact, the prowler looks similar to the suspected kidnapper related to Nancy Guthrie’s case. The police are still on the lookout for a large, grey vehicle that might be linked to Nancy’s disappearance. During the initial search, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department pulled over two suspicious vehicles. Later, they also seized a grey Range Rover from one neighbour’s garage. A resident told News 4:
“It is someone walking on your property late at night, uninvited, it might be a small crime, but committing a crime, and it is disturbing.”
