Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra May Feature 200 Megapixel Camera with Variable Aperture, Huawei, Redmi, Xiaomi

The upcoming smartphones of South Korean handset maker Samsung may come with a camera with variable aperture. Till a few years ago, dual-aperture was provided for the rear camera in the company’s smartphones. Variable aperture for the camera may be available in the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra.

One on microblogging platform Weibo Post Tipster Smart Pikachu has reported that both Samsung and Huawei smartphone companies are testing a 200-megapixel primary rear camera with variable aperture. This feature can be found in Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra. Compared to the fixed aperture used in most smartphones, the variable aperture makes it easier for the camera to adjust to the light. Xiaomi 14 Ultra and Honor Magic 6 Pro have cameras with variable aperture.

The rear camera of Apple’s iPhone 18 Pro to be launched this year may be with variable aperture. Samsung can also improve the rear camera unit of its smartphones with this feature. Recently, a media report said that all the models of Samsung Galaxy S27 series may have a new camera design. The company plans to provide built-in magnets in this series. With this, these smartphones will be able to get support for Qi2 magnetic wireless charging without case and magnetic accessories like snap-on charger, power bank and stand. Samsung Vertical arrangement is said to be a problem in the camera layout of current smartphones. This leaves no space for the circular magnetic ring. The company’s upcoming foldable smartphone may come with a new camera layout. However, making major changes in the design of the smartphone may also increase the company’s expenses.

Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra has a quad rear camera unit. This smartphone has a 200-megapixel wide-angle primary camera with f/1.4 aperture. It is accompanied by a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera and a 10-megapixel telephoto camera. The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra packs a 5,000 mAh battery with support for 60 W wired fast charging and 25 W wireless charging.
