Pranit More's Ex-BB Housemate Malti Chahar Slams Rs. 370 Biryani Remark, 'Hesitant About Marriage..'

Pranit More is currently hogging the spotlight for all the wrong reasons. For those unaware, ever since a clip of him talking to a man in the audience of one of his shows, who made derogatory remarks about a woman, went viral, Pranit has been facing intense backlash from social media users. Even his former Bigg Boss 19 housemate, Malti Chahar, whom Pranit was once linked with, did not let the Rs. 370 biryani remark go and expressed her discontent with the same.

Malti Chahar furious about the Rs. 370 biryani remark during Pranit More’s show

A while ago, on Wednesday, December 10, 2026, Malti Chahar took to her social media to share her thoughts on the growing Rs. 370 biryani controversy. It all started during Pranit More’s show when a 23-year-old man named Himanshu Jangra in the audience opened up about how he went on a date with a woman where he paid Rs. 370 for a plate of chicken biryani. And because he was the one who paid the amount, he believed that he deserved a “return” on the money that he spent.

While addressing this, Malti Chahar also talked about the heat that the Peddi makers are facing. Filmmaker, Buchi Babu Sana’s sports action drama has come under fire from several viewers and netizens about how the movie tried to hypersexualise the character played by Janhvi Kapoor. Malti wrote:

“Rs. 370 biryani and Peddi…make you realise why women are hesitant about marriage, why we value our independence, and why we choose to split the bill. Some women are even financially supporting men entirely.”

Malti went on to say that despite this, women still get objectified. Being furious at the joke, the actress said that apparently, a woman’s consent is worth noting more than a plate of biryani. In her words:

“Yet, we continue to be objectified, and a woman’s consent is apparently worth no more than a plate of biryani. After generations of fighting for equality, dignity, and respect, it’s disheartening that we’re still confronting the same underlying mindset.”

According to Malti, all mothers and future mothers should teach their sons to understand and respect the importance of consent. She also urged them to teach men to treat women with respect. She went on to slam the audience as well for easily dismissing something as “just a joke” or “just a film,” when the media shapes culture, and women are the ones who bear the real-life consequences of all the things that get normalised on screen. Malti ended her note by saying that even though people make money by catering to the market, it is we as consumers who should also bear the responsibility. She says that people should be mindful of what they choose to support and encourage.

It is worth noting that during their time on Bigg Boss 19, Malti and Pranit had grabbed a lot of attention for their close friendship. At the time, many believed that they might also be in a romantic relationship, to which Malti had to step in and clarify that she and Pranit did not have any romantic feelings for each other. However, by the end of the season, Malti and Pranit’s friendship had turned sour.

Pranit More apologises after facing backlash

The misogynistic joke made during Pranit More’s show has sparked outrage. While most have been slamming the audience member, Himanshu Jangra, the comedian could also not escape the backlash. Amid the controversy, Pranit posted a video and apologised for laughing at the remark, saying:

“I’ve seen the criticism regarding a recent crowdwork clip. The comments made by the audience member do not reflect my views. Looking back, I should have challenged the remark instead of laughing and moving on.”
