Manav Suthar Set For County Cricket Stint With Warwickshire

Indian cricketer Manav Suthar has signed a short-term deal with Warwickshire and will be available for the county’s next two matches in the Rothesay County Championship.

The 23-year-old left-arm spinner joins the Bears on the back of an impressive Test debut for India against Afghanistan, where he took seven wickets, including a six-wicket haul in the first innings. Only one bowler has returned better figures on their Test debut for India – Narendra Hirwani, who took eight wickets in both innings on debut against West Indies in 1988.

Suthar arrives in England with an outstanding First-Class record, having claimed 129 wickets in 29 matches before earning his maiden India cap.

“I’m incredibly excited to be joining Warwickshire for the next two County Championship games. The team have started the season very well, so I’m hoping that I can play a part in helping them in their push for the title,” Suthar said.

He will be available for Warwickshire’s fixtures against Yorkshire at Scarborough and Somerset at Taunton.
