Talking about the cast fee of Maa Behen, while nothing has officially been confirmed, some reports suggest that Madhuri Dixit is taking home the biggest paycheque. According to reports, the veteran actress will take home around Rs. 7 crore for her role as ‘Rekha’. Following close behind is the Animal beauty, Triptii Dimiri, who is alleged to earn a massive salary of Rs. 5 crore for playing ‘Jaya’. Dharna Durga is also taking home a substantial amount from Maa Behen. As per reports, she will be paid Rs. 40 lakh for her role as ‘Sushma’.

What is the plot of Maa Behen?

According to reports, Maa Behen is a crime-family drama that revolves around neighbourhood gossip and has enough absurdity to keep things entertaining throughout. While the story has some emotional undercurrents, the humour makes it an immensely light and enjoyable watch. The film begins with ‘Jaya’, whose life revolves around her marital home.

She has allegedly made over one lakh rotis for her in-laws since she got married. She is sensible and often avoids drama, unlike her stepsister, ‘Sushma’, and mother, ‘Rekha’. Talking about the stepsister, ‘Sushma’ is the complete opposite of ‘Jaya’; she is loud, ambitious, and one is more likely to get her attention online than in the real world.

She belongs to a generation willing to do almost anything for virality, from recreating Raja Hindustani’s iconic kiss to cringeworthy content with her brother-in-law, ‘Sushma’s’ obsession with internet fame feels hilariously familiar. However, things spiral when ‘Jaya’ and ‘Sushma’ receive a frantic call from their mother informing them that their neighbour, ‘Gupta ji’, has mysteriously died inside their house, kick-starting a wildly entertaining attempt by the trio to get rid of the body in a neighbourhood that thrives on gossip.
