Bengaluru to host Maharaja Trophy along with Mysuru and Hubballi

In a slight departure from its earlier schedule, the Maharaja Trophy KSCA T20 has included Bengaluru as a venue, in addition to Mysuru and Hubballi.

The State capital will play host to the business end of the tournament, including the four playoff encounters.

“The teams requested for some matches to be played in Bengaluru and we have obliged,” KSCA spokesperson Vinay Mrutyunjaya stated.

The belief is that having a few games in Bengaluru will help attract more sponsorships and also give organizers the advantage of better drainage facilities during the crucial climactic phase in the event monsoon wreaks havoc.

Mysuru will witness 12 matches, starting with the opener between Kalyani Bengaluru Blasters and Gulbarga Mystics on June 20. The action will shift to Hubballi from June 27 to July 3 before the caravan moves to Bengaluru and culminates in the final on July 12.

Player auction will be held on June 5, with more than 150 players up for grabs.
