Euphoria has come to an end after premiering in 2019. With the 8th episode of season 3 hitting the screens, Euphoria’s journey ended, and the last episode came as a shocker to many, as seemingly nobody had seen this coming that a major character would die. Yes! ‘Nate Jacobs’ died in the 7th episode, and it was brutal, while the 8th episode featured the death of ‘Rue’.
This surely was something unexpected, and several conversations are up on social media about the same. Throughout the three seasons, rumours about several cracks, toxic culture, and feud everything were going on, but now with Zendaya’s passing in the last episode, made people talk about it again. So, what’s going on? Let’s have a look!
Is Zendaya upset with Euphoria makers? Speculations are up amid ‘Rue’ died in the finale
There have been several buzz, even before Euphoria 3 arrived, which claimed that Zendaya might be having some issues with the makers, including Sam Levinson, which was due to the delay in season 3. Well, there was no confirmation on the same claim, though. Now that ‘Rue’ died in the series, netizens have been wondering if any of the speculations were true, given that the actress reportedly didn’t promote season 3. Well, nothing can be confirmed as of now, but fans reacted and mentioned that ‘Rue’s death, that too, towards the end of the series, left them shattered.

Zendaya also appeared at the season 3 premiere, where she posed alone, sparking buzz about her feud with Sydney Sweeney. Sources claimed to Page Six that Sydney was flirty with Tom Holland when he was on the sets, which didn’t go well with Zendaya. Also, sources added that Zendaya and Sydney have different political views or so. Well, these speculations were never confirmed, and some other sources revealed that the actresses were busy and were working continuously on their respective projects.

How did ‘Rue’ die in Euphoria?
In season 3, episode 8, ‘Rue’ was seen fleeing as ‘Wayne’ chased her, as ‘Faye’ screamed to wake him up while the former was stealing from him. ‘Wayne’ failed to do so, however, ‘Rue’ got chased by ‘Harley’ but again fled from that place as ‘G’ shot the latter. ‘Rue’ met ‘Alamo’ and got the reward of drugs and money. She headed to ‘Ali’s home and took pills.

Well, as it was in the middle of the 93-minute episode, ‘Rue’ was seen dreaming about ‘Fez’ (late actor, Agnus Cloud), and being in a field with him, along with being in her childhood home, where her mom was reading the Bible. To mention, it was ‘Ali’ who found ‘Rue’ unresponsive on his couch. She actually overdosed on fentanyl and passed away.

To mention, Zendaya was one of the highest-paid actors in the show, with reportedly USD 1 million, per episode. While a character is someone who deals with drug issues, some gossip was around. In February 2022, D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) released a statement and blasted Euphoria makers, showing topics related to drugs, for ‘misguidedly glorifying and erroneously depicting high-school student drug use’. Well, Zendaya had a response to the same, as she told Entertainment Weekly that it was not a moral tale to teach people what to do and what they should be doing. She could be quoted as saying:
“Our show is in no way a moral tale to teach people how to live their life or what they should be doing.”
